Thinking of what to get next
I've managed to change the boot logo on my comand hu on my e class 211, i now have the ///AMG logo showing, please note that these are not pictures that i added on but are already installled on the hu.

Here goes.....

turn ignition key to position 1 or 2.
2. Turn on Command.
3. Turn to Radio.
4. Press 5 (continue holding and wait 1 second).
5. Press 3 (continue to hold along with 5 key and wait 1 second).
6. Press 7 (continue to hold along with 5 and 3 keys and wait about 3 seconds).
7. A menu should appear. Scroll down and select "AMG211_ECE" option.
8. Switch off ignition, remove key and leave about 5 minutes before turning on again.

There are other various ones there but since i wanted the amg one thats what i went for.

Just tried it on my ML's comand, held the buttons as you describe, but it didnt display a menu, it just stayed on the radio.

worked on mine (W211)

:bannana:

I tried this on my COMAND a while back, but sadly didn't work. :(

Purely out of interest, if you want to do this on a Tom Tom you just replace the file splash.bmp in the root directory with your own image. It needs to be exactly the same dimensions (320x240 pixels on mine), or it won't display. The shutdown screen is called suspend.bmp, and you can replace that with your own version as well.

It's dust from last Sunday whilst Richard was coding to show outside temp on normal display, I'm waiting to Hoover it as i don't want to mark the screen!

Yup it was a bit dusty there, I left the roof down till I got to the motorway to blow some of it away :D

I think the common factor with Andy and evdok is they have E class cars

Will only work with hu same as the 211's
SL CLASS >04
SLK CLASS > 04
S CLASS > 03 to 05
CL CLASS > 03 TO 06
CLS CLASS ALL
Maybachs too.

Not too sure if it works on any other models.

It will cease to work in the event that some obliging apprentice updates the firmware on the head unit.
Not this menu its not gone anywhere with the latest update.

The concern MB notes (as pointed out by Howard) relates to the selection of an incorrect model series or keypad layout, the model series selection can be easily fixed but selecting an incorrect keypad layout can cause the buttons to get out of sync (you press 5 and the unit reads a 0 or whatever) so big PITA to put that right.

Also i think it's now fixed on the latest software but MB always select the MB boot logo from the factory regardless of the engine because the AMG version was buggy especially with AM radio, no dealer should give you any stick for changing it (probably wont even notice).

I can get up to the logo list and select the one I want but on switch on nothing happens. E class 320cdi. W211

Sorry to use this but as a newbie my post count isn't high enough for a PM.
How did you get the recoding done to display OAT and does it also show fuel remaining?
Thanks
GG
