C63 Coupe
Guys as some of you are aware I ordered a C63 coupe a few months ago. I changed the spec a few weeks ago. My supplier has just sent a email with the revised monthly payments. The options I have choosen total £2400 but the supplier wants to charge me £2990 over the 2 years. How can this be.
Now before I get shot down and I'm told to speak to the supplier I only opened the email today so I wont be able to speak to the until Monday.
My gut feeling is tell them to stick it as I'm of the opinion that I should only be paying the £2400 over the 2 years. Another thing that gets me is that I've never paid full book price for options as the dealer has always done a bit discount.

Rant over :(

Wouldn't the difference be interest?

You are borrowing the money and should expect to pay for for it?

I'm not sure if thats correct with contract hire but I'm sure someone will put me right

Of course it's interest...if you borrowed £2400 FROM THE BANK OVER 2 YEARS, HOW MUCH WOULD you pay back? Or are we missing something here?

Depends on the options and if the leasing company deem that they add value to the car.

I'm not clear on your method of funding - is it HP per the title or contract hire per your reply above ?

How does this compare to the effective interest rate implicit in your previously agreed repayments? I would have thought it was unreasonable if they were charging more interest on the options than the rest of the car.

I think I would also feel aggrieved if they had given you a certain % discount on the list price of the car and then not applied this to the extra options, but then they have you over a barrel once you have agreed a purchase!

You'll have better luck on Tuesday, trust me!

I've never paid more than the value of extras over the contract term. Normally it is equal or slightly less.

Ask the dealer for discounts on your options, saved myself quite a bit as mine were either free or net price

Sorry I can see how this can be confusing. I've taken the car on contract hire.
