I'm trying to go view a car tonight... (sadly, not a merc... as much as I would like another W202, I can't find one real cheap with road tax/mot... something with tax/test until June/July would be ideal... 5-6 months would give me time to find the ideal CLK )
Given the extremely low figures I'm looking at (<£500), I don't want to spend £25 on a HPI check beforehand only to turn up and realise the car is a wreck and I would never buy it.
So, I seem to remember a company that does HPI checks by text for £3 or so... which would work quite well... I see the car, if I like it, do the HPI check there and then... and then offer the money and hope he accepts my offer.
Does anyone remember the company/number?
