iCarSoft OBD Fault Reader/Clearing Device Review + ***Forum Discount Code***

These cars will easily pass any nox test even with adblue delete. The amount of adblue used with a fully working car is minimal unless it's getting thrashed at full throttle, that when adblue is used.
It's not something I'm concerned with , obviously Alfa is 😀

Not at all .....quite the opposite. Its NOT tested at the MOT and never has been....but its being proposed that it will be in the next round of MOT changes.....so then people with NOX delete might have to be more careful depending on what's checked. I've never heard of anyone being convicted.....but technically its illegal to drive any car on the road with factory fitted emission equipment either deleted of deactivated.....comes with £1000 fine (£2000 if a commercial vehicle).

Keep us all informed buddy 👍👍

From below....Sure its just a proposal from 2 years ago...updated earlier this year....but usually this stuff happens eventually. IMO...not a nad thing....I thing most would say that making cars emit more nasty stuff is not a great idea.....and in the long run will just result in stiffer rules and more legislation until we are all forced into boring hybrids and EVs,

Quote from the piece...

Whilst our proposals in Part 1 should significantly strengthen the testing of particulate emissions during the MOT, another pollutant of significant concern is NOx. The MOT test currently does not include a direct examination of the performance of NOx control systems on the vehicle and we understand that this can be difficult to fully assess without the engine under load. We would welcome any views or research on methods that could be applied within the MOT test to assess the performance of NOx control systems on both diesel and petrol vehicles.

Scaremongering, nothing more.

Maybe... but that's what they said when they proposed banning HID and LED headlights conversions, cat gutting, DPF removal, including fog lights etc etc.... and look what happened there.....

Only time will tell.....

Doesn't appear to have stopped it, still going on everyday of the week as far as I'm aware.

Of course....but it does not make it right or legal. I, like most people, speed to a greater or lesser degree most days.....but I won't try and justify it.

And it invalidates the insurance as well..as in the paragraph; - "Has this vehicle been modified or changed in any way from the manufacturer's specifications?" or words to that effect.

If you bought the car second hand, and could not answer this question because you dont know what the previous owner did, then they cannot invalidate your insurance.

Same goes for remaps . You don't know .

But of course!! My MB isn't due for the NCT (MOT equivalent) until 2026, so I'm not even sure that I will still have it then... We will see! Presently, its behaving and driving like a dream, so all is good. But strange thing about car Insurance. My son-in-law was collecting my granddaughter from school in the rural area where we live, when 2 French tourists came around a bend on the wrong side., and there was a collision, it wasn't too bad as these things go. Needed a driver side front wing, but otherwise, no one was hurt and in due course, the insurance assessor called my house to examine the car.
Out came the check list....tyre thread depth, Check. Tyre pressure, Check. all wheels, including the spare, Brake discs and pads on all 4 wheels, Check. Handbrake performance, Check. Engine and chassis Nrs,match documents, Check. Move the car forward and backwards on the driveway, Check. All lights working, Check. I was on the point of telling him that it was the other car that was at fault, when he announced he was done. I wonder how long it will be before the insurance will demand a scan of the engine and gearbox as routine after an accident.? Kind of breath test...

Well I can honestly say the complete opposite of that when my wife in her ford Kuga had a run in with a polish artic . Her insurance company sent an app to her phone ,which involved me going to the vehicle with her mobile phone and taking pictures at the apps request , front right ,front ,front left ,left side, rear . Etc etc . Showing damaged areas . The pictures were sent to co part and it was to be written off . I however cancelled the claim , bought a used wing ,a wing mirror and wheel arch trim ,off eBay £270 and fixed it back up myself. Sold the car for £5k , weeks later . Insurance Co , weren't even interested in any finer details at all.

Yes. I have the iCarsoft CR Pro, and it updates regularly, all makes.
Hi , out of interest does your serial number begin iV or iH ? Icarsoft are telling me mine is older version iV and won't read my 2018 glc . I'm trying to work out when the iV or iH version actually was introduced in the UK.
