Idiot in a BMW M140

I was extremely close to a collision today thanks to an impatient tool driving an M140.
Approaching a roundabout, I could see a car transporter a couple of cars ahead so switched to the outside lane intending to dispatch the transporter on a short uphill stretch of dual carriageway before the two lanes merged into one at the top of the hill.
Just as I came off the roundabout and about to accelerate, a white BMW undertook me on the inside lane and cut across my n/s wing into the outside lane missing me by inches. Had I put my foot down as intended, he would have been rammed. I was fuming, but held back and didn't chase him. 20 years ago things would have been different.

At the next roundabout, he was turning left and I pulled alongside and let him know what an idiot he was in a bit of industrial language. He got the message. Foolish maybe but it really got my back up how stupidly he behaved just showing how quick his car is. Funny really as I'd probably leave him standing given the right time and place.

Rant over, and I'm ready to listen to how I should have reacted;):D
Hi , fully understand your rant to the driver but please be careful.

It has been known that drivers of that type can be come aggressive.

Crawling along the inside lane of the A1 in Yorkshire on Sunday a 5-series BMW shot past on the hard shoulder, a few seconds later followed by an Aston Martin Vanquish. They both had to barge in a short distance ahead where the hard shoulder came to an end. I couldn't see where the BMW went after that but it was easy to spot the white Aston moving straight over to the outside lane. I was more than happy to pass the Aston a couple of minutes later because the inside lane was moving faster. Interestingly, when the traffic was flowing freely again after a few miles I could see the Aston in my mirrors very slowly catching up without going mad. It was still behind about 20 miles later when it turned off. Presumably the driver had been pi55ed off by the BMW and briefly given chase without any concern for laws and safety.

Lol I totally understand your frustration mate! It's no surprise that almost half of the M140s on eBay have been categorized!

D**khead Motor List:

* Audi S3/RS3
* VW Golf R
* BMW M140/M135

The drivers of these cars (I find) usually have a point to prove on the road. Especially if they come across another powerful car.

Well, I really must get a DASH CAM for the rear window. This was my experience on Tuesday, I and Memsabi are on the M25 heading towards the Dartford Bridge, we are in the middle lane just before Brentwood turn off, I know to keep in this lane as there is a second branch off towards Brentwood, so this 32 idiot in a Commercial gets up behind me, believe this bloody fool was almost in the boot, flashing his headlights for me to get out of his way, he was almost touching our bumper if I had touched the brakes he would have caused an accident, NOW get this he then realized this was his turn off swerved off left to turn towards Brentwood, I look over to try and catch the name, no name, BUT the wrist sign from him I obviously gave him the finger, my opinion was he was either on drugs or had been drinking, I have experience of driving HGV s class 1 Artics so I know how dangerous that was.

Dash cams are an absolute must these days IMO.
2 fitted to Mrs Spiky's car, the one on the tailgate deliberately conspicuous as she has suffered more than once from the 'Blonde in a flash car' treatment by Richard Cranium and his mates in crappy Corsas as well as a fair few from Goldeneye's list in post 43.

Usual case with the current driver pool globally. Respect and etiquette lacking chaps. There is a place to accelerate and then there is a place to pause for the one ahead. I call them fish tail drivers, impatient. They overtake as if they are in a constant state of emergency. We have to avoid a collision out of sheer experience and they feel they got away due to sheer skill. IGNORANT DRIVERS.

Our quiet rural village is dissected by an A road with a 30mph limit and just below the entrance to our street there are a couple of S bends on a steepish hill that have seen quite a few accidents over the years.

A couple of days ago I was approaching these bends on my way home, when I came face to face with a 20 something male travelling, I would guess at around 50-60mph downhill. How he had got around the bends in one piece is still a mystery to me.

The car was a dark brown M140 and the driver was either sitting on the floor or he was seriously vertically challenged and had the obligatory hat on backwards.

Coincidentally I actually considered one of these during my recent car hunt, but SWMBO decided one fast car in our garage was enough, so went for something more in keeping with my advanced years. Come to think about it, the ones I’ve seen on the roads all seemed to driving faster than everyone else. Maybe their drivers were delivering kidneys or blood supplies…..

My uncle used a paintball gun to shoot on law breaking and disrespectful drivers. Spray and Sway away.

Hey Aidros
The last time I was in your part of the world was when the Shah of Iran was around and I rode my 1956 Tiger 100 from Tehran to Srinagar. ("Nou roose" time)
The driving habits were so bad for someone on two wheels, the local bikers (bulleteers ) almost escorted me by using the least used roads to avoid the lunatics in Tata & Ashok Leyland buses.
All for a plate of authentic Kashmiri lamb and a lassi ! :cool:
(Not forgetting of course English style tea with special Indian combination)

Nowadays my doctor in Denver, an Indian often asks me where can you find the best curry & I insist on the lakes in Srinagar !
No! Wrong!
The best can be found in Nottingham ,better than India!:D he often states.
Cheers.
Tuercas viejas.

Well you could drive with all the "road rage lunatics" to Wembley or Ealing or maybe Bradford for Gujarati food, but no lakes and mountains you see, not like Srinagar. Not even the Malverns come close
And the Kasmiri lamb might not be up to par either!.
Besides its more Brit than Brit with no "finger salutes" from angry drivers hell bent on forcing you out of the way.

Now once the Covid thingy lifts and "Sleepy Joe " lets Brits in, you could come to Colorado and Estes Park .
Yes mountains and lakes plus a Himalayan Kashmiri small restaurant serving Kashmiri lamp & Chai.
Again no road rage lunatics, the roads are mountain passes so you drive with care. AND so does everyone else !

Reading road rage !
What about raging **** rage ? 👿 o_O :eek:
Having ridden my 1956 Tiger100 from Tehran to Srinagar I had to make my back .
I decided to ride up into Pakistan and across 'Ghan to Mashad & back to Tehran .
The roads were so bad I rubbed the skin of my **** on the saddle enduring pure agony until, I got to Islamabad.
Where, I purchased a packet of women's sanitary towels from local chemist's shop and lathered them in nappy (diaper ) rash crème, stuffing them in my Y fronts as a cushion.
These Pakis in the chemist shop thought I must have gone nuts!
But it did get me to the "Ghan" border where I bunged the bike on the bus, and rode in comfort across the country where I rested up nursing a sore **** in Kabul

So I suppose you could get sore being cut off up by a lunatic at roundabout on the North Circular but nothing comes close to having no skin on your backside.
And the bike? --Just kept going, peeing oil.
Made in England when we made good stuff !

Estes Park looks beautiful!

Estes Park looks beautiful!
Yes it is, and my wife now of just 25 years secretly arranged an overnight stay in the town for our anniversary.
A very enjoyable 24 hours and the traffic is so relaxed, and road rage & rude driving antics are almost unheard of.!
When I came to the Denver area now almost 30 years ago, I fell in love with this State out here in the West & the Northern Tier of the USA , (Wyoming Montana & Idaho.)
This is a closer look at Estes Park:-

And it wouldn't be fair to not include Golden where I have my family MB/Landrover repair business, just far away from Denver and jackass driving antics!

It's usually anyone who feels entitled. Not generally anyone from high society. We only face this under Middle and Lower classes. Money is not the only factor in high class, gene pool is. Middle class are the ones who always lash out and pretend to be important.

You don't see your high ranking members of the English Royal family get in to such behavioral traits. But rich billionaires from Middle Eastern familes are off on the streets causing havoc, these are not Arabs with heritage, they are goons with money. They don't possess any educational qualifications to deem them a professional. Usually they send a proxy to an international University and use that degree hung up in a wall frame. This is just a portion of the bad etiquette populace. There are more on this list. Stereotypes are key to success, although frowned upon.
