Hello All,
Well to start with I had a fuel leak, and although the washer and oring on the fuel pump pipes are shown as a separate part MB informed me that they come with the pipes only. Bought 2 new pipes and fitted them, guess what, the pump started leaking. Fitted a new pump and all seemed good. I do a lot of motorway miles and on one of my trips I smelt diesel. There are 2 clips that hold the fuel pipes in place, one of them had come loose and the fuel pipe was touching the fan belt and had worn thru. Another new pipe to buy and fit along with 2 new clips at £1.36 each. Moral of the story, replace these clips when the pipes are replaced as I lost half tank of diesel and spent £40 on another fuel pipe all for the cost of 2 clips. Very easy job to do and well worth attempting if you have fuel leaks.
Now to the main reason I am here, I have noticed a little bit o fuel leaking at the top of one of my injectors. Is this a job I can do myself, or is it a dealers job or can any garage repair this? Most car injectors these days are specialist jobs, so any advice will help.
The car is a C220 CDI saloon 2002 reg with 130000 miles on the clock. I bought this car as they are supposed to be bulletproof, but the bullets are getting thru:wallbash:
