Hello,
I'd like to start a thread about CLK's and Limp mode.
What causes your limp mode an how much it costs to fix.

I'll start with my second limp mode (the first one I've had to pay for)

Diagnosed as both inlet manifolds and an inlet manifold purge thingy ( i can't recall perhaps someone could enlighten me)

Cost of parts £1400+.

I'm currently dreading the bill for labor!

Apparently this is a common fix on Mercedes:dk:

I'm guessing that your is the V6 3.0 diesel engine.

I saw the Port Inlet Manifold Flat Motor go on ours, cost was circa £450 from an Indie.

I know from Ollies parts that the motor ethier burns out due to oil contamination or a gunged up Manifold...

Crockers has seen a few of these go....

HI David
Oh yes sorry mine is the v6 diesel.
Do you know if its nornal for the inlet manifolds to have to be replaced. I honestly thought an inlet manifold was just a metal tube!

Olly does apparently as otherwise you risk the problem coming back. It's quite labour intensive to get to and not something you want to do more than the once.

I didn't, but only because I had not seen the advice.
