I can't understand these guys that plow 10's of thousands into these cars to get a few seconds quicker, especially with the likes of your AMG / M cars etc which imo are a plenty capable car out of the box. And let's be honest you can't use is it on our roads especially these days.So unless you're the sort of person to whom tiny fractions of a second matter, f**k-all difference, in a straight line anyway...
Because they can I guess.I can't understand these guys that plow 10's of thousands into these cars to get a few seconds quicker, especially with the likes of your AMG / M cars etc which imo are a plenty capable car out of the box. I think if they got a few seconds quicker it would be worth it. I doubt many manage to get a few seconds off a quarter mile time...!I can't understand these guys that plow 10's of thousands into these cars to get a few seconds quicker, especially with the likes of your AMG / M cars etc which imo are a plenty capable car out of the box. White car has been serviced by me for virtually all it’s life. Just saying
Stock though, despite me nagging the owner for some time
I was talking more in the 0-60I think if they got a few seconds quicker it would be worth it. I doubt many manage to get a few seconds off a quarter mile time...!
I never quite understand the "can't use it anyway" argument. Numerous times today I was flat out and needed more for overtakes/overtakes I couldn't commit to without more power. I don't think those power levels are unusable at all.
Did you watch the whole video? I think she acquitted herself pretty well. Sure, the 4 wheel drives are going to best it on the launch, and it’s new crop vs 8 year old model, but in the rolling drag tests she held her head high. I was impressed anywayPoor old C63... It didn't stand a chance
Unfortunately the new crop C63 doesn't hit the spot for me... So better the old cropDid you watch the whole video? I think she acquitted herself pretty well. Clear conclusion from this is that the old C63 battered the other two on everything but the standing start test and the brake test. The BMW in 2WD mode looked rubbish!Did you watch the whole video? I've not once managed to use all the power of my FF on the road in the 14 months and 14,000 miles in which I've owned it. I regularly see people on forums with AMG/M/RS cars quoting power numbers far greater then the 660hp my car produces as standard. So maybe it's different, maybe the chassis or the way the power is delivered is different but I have never been close to running out of power. I can overtake comfortably very quickly indeed in pretty much any gear up to 5th. If I pull too many gears down, even with 4wd I risk ending up sideways or in a hedge.I think if they got a few seconds quicker it would be worth it. At over 5000rpm once rolling it accelerates with the same ferocity as a superbike, it's like that bit in Star Wars when the Millenium Falcon goes into Hyperspace - the scenery just starts coming towards you at an ever increasing rate until you run out of bottle. It is immense and the sound is glorius.
I adore the car, the reality is I really have no where to go from this, it is as good as it gets for me. The one thing it doesn't need though is more power or a louder exhaust! In fact I've just had some Lusso back boxes fitted to quieten it down a little.
JC said it best in this vid. You can enjoy it, you just can't enjoy all of it.

I’m not one for traffic light Grand Prix I much prefer to have a faster car on a roll, like when you need to overtake or merge into a lane lolPoor old C63... It didn't stand a chance
