Hi. I,ve searched the forums but can't find the answer.
CLK270CDI 2003 W209. Management light comes on and goes off again. No effect on performance or economy. Any ideas ?
Another one. The poly drive belt is starting to ride off the front side of the tensioner pulley. The tensioner was replaced last year and I changed the belt when I noticed the issue. No obvious play in any of the pulleys ?
Your thoughts please!
Cheers
B.

have you had a diagnosis done via a scanner or STAR? that would be the first step.

EML doesnt necessarily mean running problems, so that could be fine not noticing anything, but needs checking out.

Yes I have a similar problem engine management light comes I and goes off. It came on last week for a day or so then went off. I put it down to going through some big puddles with all the rain we've had! Maybe water getting into sensor or something? It's come back on today and it's been fairly dry so I'm going to have to get the fault code read. It's no good even speculating as it could be just about anything. Hope an expensive fix as the cars running great but you never know!

Could well be the EGR valve getting blocked...does it come whilst idling or sitting in traffic and then go as you accelerate and get upto speed?

W209.clk270cdi 2003

Management light either does not go off or does when car started. No change of status during journeys.
At present I'm more concerned about the poly belt trying to run off the tensioner pulley. Present tensioner was changed 18 months ago. Could it be goosed already, it wasn't an original MB. Any suggestions of alternative possibilities ?
