Hi All,

Do you need a cradle to ensure an Iphone is connected to the mercedes bluetooth system or can it be done without wires?

I have an E class 2010 model with audio 20?

Thanks

I have Audio 20 in my 2012 B-class, both phone and bluetooth music streaming work fine, only thing that doesnt seem to work is the txt message functions with the iPhone 4s

My iphone 4s worked fine in the 2010 E coupe. Obviously it can't charge or connect to the external aerial but it bluetoothed for phone calls no problem. Contacts can also be transferred to the car. Text messages will only display if you have the cradle (about £399 iirc) Cradle can only be used if the car has the convenience telephony option (special port in centre cubby box.)

How did I find the Bluetooth password?

Tried all the obvious ones like oooo/1234 etc?

Cheers

I have (finally!) managed to connect the Bluetooth to the 4s so can make and recieve calls now

How do I play music through, as I can only hear music through iPhone and not through car speakers?

Thanks

Well with mine the BT Audio was just enabled after the phone paired. In the Tel menu I have a BT Audio button on screen or alternatively pressing disk button on unit to invoke a list of sources i.e. cd, usb, BT Audio then scrolling to BT Audio and it just springs to life when i press the controller to choose it.

Might be worth checking that your audio 20 Bt stack has an A2DP profile enabled as it needs this to work.

You need to go into engineering mode to check it, prob best to google it for your car and radio and find the correct key combinations.

For ref there are videos on youtube which may help i.e. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzWqBeg3FRc
