Anyone got a W212 E Class with a USB port in the arm rest, running an Ipod?

Can't get mine to play in sequence, permanently on shuffle mode. Been into settings on the car, its set to run normal play and the shuffle is turned off on the Ipod, but it still won't play properly.

Anyone any ideas?

Yet another IPod issue

I also have a USB /iPod issue as my ipod shows a ' do not disconnect ' message and no sound or any further movement. The thing works OK via AUX input but I have given up with the USB ipod interface. I can get sound from the USB socket via a thumb drive and a portable hard drive but I feel the issue is an IPod / Apple /Merc software conflict issue. Sorry but I do not see any quick fix.

I suspect as much.
I plugged in a memory stick into the USB port and it plays perfectly........... think I'll be ditching the ipod and running a stick instead.

Which audio unit have you got ?
What size of portable HDD unit do you use ?

Mine is a C not an E but I have two cables, an iPod one and a USB one. If I use the USB cable I get the same random playing as you describe but wih the iPod cable it works fine.

Can you explain that please?

I have a jack socket (like a headphone socket) which I can connect to, but then you have to control from the ipod.
I'm running the ipod using the proper ipod lead which ends in a usb plug, into the usb port.
What is the ipod cable then?

It's the Media Interface that gives iPod connectivity.
It is included if you have Comand Online, or an option:
'Audio 20 with Media Interface and 6-disc CD changer'
I think the standard Audio 20 has the USB socket but not the extra media one with the iPod connector lead.

It is all in the user manual and brochure but people dont seem to bother to read them. You only get USB and an aux input as standard. The USB doesnt support ipod, it supports USB pendrives and hard drives.

For ipod connectivity you need the optional media interface which is only available with upgraded audio systems i.e. Audio 20 with built in 6 cd changer or Comand.

ah, that makes sense now......... not read the manual fully yet!!

I'll ditch the ipod and run a stick instead.

Thanks
