Hi,

I have just had a Ipod interface fitted by MB to my 2005 CLK with an audio 20 radio. I have a problem in that I can't jump between menu’s. I can move down the tracks using the steering wheel controls. The manual says, by using the telephone control you can step back up a menu and choose between albums.

Has anyone else had one of these interface fitted and if so, is this correct. I want the facts before going back to MB.

TIA

Tal

Hi Tal,

Not sure of your steering wheel. I have a sports 3 spoke with 4 pairs of buttons.

The 3rd pair (the telephone buttons) are top for select and bottom for navigate up one menu. Then you use the second pair (up/down) to select from that new list.

Hope that's all clear....

Do you have a phone fitted ?

I fitted an integration kit to my C class - probably a bit different for the CLK, so my experience may not be relevant. However, prior to having the OBC reset, I could only change tracks on the ipod. If you don't have a phone installed, then the dealer has to tell the OBC that a phone is installed (even when it is not), via the star diagnosis m/c to get the phone buttons to navigate up / down the menus.

For what its worth.

Exoil,

Thanks for that. Thats exactly the problem i'm having. It looks like MB have not enabled the phone option. Any idea how long this takes as I'll be paying MB prices?

Thanks

Tal

Souldn't they have done it already so it should be free??

I agree, if the dealer did the work, they have not followed the WIS. AFAIK it specifies that the OBC has to be reset - so their cost.

I installed the kit myself & took the car to a specialist (not main dealer - they admitted they had never installed an integration kit) in W Mids for the re-programming - who also had never installed one. Took about 15 - 20 mins which involved me telling them what needed to be done & going through many many diagnostic menus until getting the correct ones. An experienced technician should take no more than 5 - 10 mins.

Good luck
