I wouldn't put any serious cash into a car with that engine because the timing chain could give you a nasty bill soon afterwards.

I scrapped an S210 E300TD (rust!!) and really regret it though - I wish I had bodged it through an MOT and parked it up somewhere because a tatty old estate would have been useful so many times since...

I know I will get the suspension stuff on this week with the guy I use as I got the parts from the prevous owner so might aswell get them on and unless somebody local wants it I will use it till October then probably scrap it.

I have 2 other cars, a mk4 golf tdi estate that needs mot'd bloody great car despite 240000 miles.

And got an 05 Astra h 1.8 petrol auto for 50 quid 2 weeks ago (shouldn't have took but couldn't resist) but needs a gearbox.

I am a bloody glutton for punishment.

OP. Whats with the 240K Golf and the scrap Astra ? Really ? You are a glutton for punishment. Next thing you will be telling us is you got given a 1993 mini metro that is just a 'little bit' rusty and need advice.

My advice (for what its worth) is stop pi$$ing around with that stuff , owning an old Mercedes Benz is going to give you enough trouble as it is !
