Hi all
Hope this is the correct thread. I'm in the market for a C63 estate, preferably performance package.
This one is on autotrader.
Now it has the alcantara wheel. I dont think the dealer understands the difference..as its pre face-lift it obviously doesn't have the red calipers.
Is there any other way for me to know..
Thanks

Barry

Ask the dealer to give you the full 17 digit Vin#, then input it into a data card decoder such as the one below.

Looks a really nice example, but a lot of money for an 09 plate pre facelift.

Yea mate, it's alot of money is right. The performance pack seem.to demand more. Its just one that's ticking the boxes at this stage.
Many Thanks for the link. I'll get the code and check that.

If the service history is perfect the price is not expensive for a tidy low miles pp estate, the lowered stiffer springs result in a firm ride but the handling is superb, how i wish my coupe had those seats they are amongst the best fitted to any car

I used to own a pp saloon and the ride and handling on oem 18s was bloody superb, get it purchased you will love it

The m156 excels in the C class, less so in the larger heavier cars

If you want to be 100% certain it's a pp car phone amg on 00800 2647 7777

I agree it's priced rather fair at such low mileage and the spec it would make a great buy. Plus future classic status.

I disagree with your statement regarding the heavier car with the M156 unit. The M156 in the w212 chassis puts out over 70 bhp more and similar torque figures. It's alot more than that of a 450 bhp C63. The W212 E63 (6.2) is on par with the E60 M5 for performance and handling qualities 😁

Thanks mate. I tend to agree. I missed a lovely light blue one a few weeks ago in similar miles and price as I was waiting for sorting money out to purchase.
This one seems like a good potential

A little taster of what the W212 is chassis is like on a handing aspect with that 6.2.

Edward hall just sold a low mile c63 pp estate import for £30k.

@Baron look more closely and you will see:

- Cheap tyres
- Standard (non PP brake discs) with painted iron bells because they clearly looked tired as evidenced by the still worn looking rotor section
- Wheels that have been recut to the minimum so no more diamond refurbishment

You can have my facelift for the same price. Has more power than the Performance Package because it's been remapped (they all make about the same after a remap). Doesn't have the crashy suspension and it does have an LSD.

The only thing Performance Package gets you that mine doesn't have is the forged crankshaft, conrods and pistons. These mean the engine spins up slightly quicker but are not needed to handle the power.

The brakes are all the same size, just different colour calipers and lighter rotors (which that car doesn't have but can be fitted to any C63 if you so choose).

The only 204 c63 worth purchasing are pp ppp 507 or bs versions.

"JUST BEEN FULLY SERVICED WHICH INCLUDED THE FRONT BRAKE DISCS AND PADS BEING CHANGED"

I've checked it for you and it comes up with P30 AMG Performance Package

Are you sure that's correct? If so, the dealer doesn't know what he's selling; I suspect the slippy diff was not standard with Option P30, just as on the W212 with Option P30, and I'd have thought having one would add significantly to the value.

The LSD was part of the p30 pakage up until 2010 after that it was a stand alone option the stifer suspension was also scrapped after that date
Some seller's are mentioning the uprated bhp but they weren't so basically before 2010 pp cars consisted of LSD ,sports suspension, red calipers with 2 piece rotors standard 457bhp with alicantara wheel
Post 2010 ppp cars were uprated engine internals with 487bhp red calipers with 1 piece rotors which look like 2 NO sports suspension or LSD imo there's no point owning a w204 c63 WITHOUT THE LSD factory or quafe etc 🙂
I wouldn't say that price is high at all

I’ve only used the vin decoder. Happy to share it with you directly if you want to second check? :)

What a ridiculous statement. They essentially all perform the same or if you find any part lacking it can be upgraded, often to PP or better.

Believe that and you'll believe anything. New discs don't have holes full of brake dust. The paint on the bell is the same as the wheel refurb to make it look new.

Just because one person has put their car up cheap to try and sell it quickly doesn't mean mine is worth the same amount.

- 5+ owners vs 2
- 2012 vs 2013
- No LSD vs Wavetrac
- Partial Mercedes service history vs full
- Much newer brakes on mine

PS: Why are you such a toad?

Thanks lads. I didnt pick up on the discs thing. How do you tell the difference. My understanding in pre 2010 was rather the calipers are bigger and not red. The red came in 2010.
It's not a deal breaker if its got non pp discs.
Its pre face-lift I'm after which I known have their gremlins with headbolts. Its is an opinion splitter but I prefer the more aggressive bumper on. Its gonna be a weekender/summer car so it's the c63 theatre has me smitten
