Thinking of what to get next
Well after 2.5 yrs of ownership and 25k miles of very happy trouble free motoring my C32 has now been sold via piston heads.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/173720.htm

When the guy drove off i had very mixed feelings, happy in 1 aspect of a new car but very sad to see it go.:( :( :(

I got a very good price for it as i stuck to my guns, i told the guy wether you buy the car or not ill still be a happy man, that got him thinking and gave me full asking price. Now the hunt is on..... but after stepping out of an AMG what do you go for ????????

Go sensible or ....................................

That was going to be my question (what next?).

You really have no idea?

After something the same but different or something different?

Budget?

Nope i really do have no idea, but the truth is i cant see my self downgrading tbh, i've deffinatly caught the bug God help me.

Budget of around 30k help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I went through a similar thing when my SL got driven away - funny how it looks better with someone else taking it!

I do miss some Merc things but the Porsche is great. I may be back for an SL55 or even go for a C43 for some cheaper fun. Toyed with the idea of a Maserati 4200 or another TVR but probably not wise! £30k will get you a nice 911 ;).

i know this is a mercedes forum so i may get flamed for suggesting this but if i had £30 to spend i would save £10k of it and use the rest on a BMW E46 M3. a late mint example with SMG 2 gear box can be picked up for the best part of 20k these days. if you want to spend all £30k im sure a couple year old CSL can be brought
not too sure of their prices tho.

I have to agree with Stats here. Unless you need back seats and four doors for very good reasons, I'd definitely be looking at 996's.

Thing is, a Carrera 2 for example will feel a little sluggish compared to the straight line grunt of the C32. Handling balance is all well and good but 90% of the time on normal roads and journey's its good old fashioned horsepower that give pleasure

If its 2 seats - that opens a whole WORLD of possibility for that budget.

If you need 4 seats, got to be an M5 with £10k change or a supercharged E55:rock:

335d Coupe :)

As close to an M3 as you can get with reasonable MPG :) and buckets of torque.

Lots of good reviews of them :)

I know its not in the same league , but might be worth a lookie.

Can also chip it to 335bhp

If I had the 30K I'd probably go for something like this:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/180389.htm

RS6, saloon/avant as you choose.

New RS4 is too much but the RS6s are at reasonable prices.

You need some clout after the C32 so a 4.2 V8 bi-turbo with a auto box should do it.

At this age out of warranty so you won't have any guilt getting the power upped from 450BHP to 500BHP and 650NM torque with a simple remap!

Tvr Deff out of the equation, not paying 30k for a fibreglass kit car.Yank cars again no thx.

Have looked into rs6's and 996's but the 996 without the turbo would feel a bit slugish.Ive drove my firends 996 and he drove mine and he was positive that in a straight line drag the 32 was a quicker car, not ruling a porker out though.

E55 is deff an option as the prices have dropped considerably.

Dont laugh BUT ive also looked at one of these.......... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/188013/top_gear_westfield_xtr2/

The westfield XTR2 HEHEHE. Not sensible but ..........................

Can you tell im going through a middle aged crisis ???
