I've been sold a lemon, 450SL 1979

I am resigned to living with it and have not fallen out of love with the car, but do want to be sure that the chassis does match the V5.

If You are happy with the car and you have evidence of an engine swap with the correct engine, then you need to inform the dvla and your insurance company. iy might cost you a a few quid but its better than having the law on you for documents that dont match the car or worst still an insurance claim that is not honoured cos you didn't tell them somthing had been changed from the original. you know that insurance companies will wriggle out through the tiniest of loopholes,

Saw Jim's car today and it was looking and sounding rather nice indeed.

Yup, it is a beautiful car, and a beautiful colour! I certainly wouldn't be dissapointed about the engine change!

As Tiff and Steven, its a lovely motor and if I were Jim I'd enjoy the last of the good weather and get that top down

Thanks for the commenst guys, Ill be ***** to post lots of pictures when I strip the engine down to remove the heads.
