Well.....i have just sorted a deal with DMS Tunning......interested then please read on -

350CDI, this includes cover that if the MB dealer updates your software in the future then we will re-upgrade for you at no charge. This includes dyno before and after at our Southampton facility, we are able to remap on site if someone can’t get down and if they choose this then we will still dyno and adjust if necessary at a later date if they were to come down at no additional charge.
It is no problem to get 300 to 312bhp from this engine with better fuel economy than standard in normal driving, also the delay in response from stationary is greatly improved too. As I said on the phone the 350cdi always makes more than the factory quoted power, the car is really transformed after the upgrade.

Also to go through what we spoke about again, the upgrade has been developed at our facility monitoring all the factors that would potentially effect longevity, for example: Exhaust gas temperature, intake temperature, smoke threshold and DPF saturation levels. We have factory Mercedes diagnostics and make sure that no function causes any undue stress.

And the best bit is I have a rolling road print out for 308BHP!!!!

I need another 2 people for a very good deal. Prices are private and email me on [email protected] if you want in...Let me know....Ninja Matt

What gains for a 2007 c320cdi?

I'll do it with you although I would need to know some details first ie have they remapped an E500, or similar - CL500 ( the 5.5 388hp variety) and what were the results, gearbox issues, is it safe and of course price!

What do they push the torque to? Max for the box is 700nm.
How does this affect the MB warranty?
You've had it done but need another 2 people to get a good deal?

 indeed.
The website indicates torgue goes to 717nm on the 350 sport cdi which is above the rating for the box. On paper it's an interesting alternative to the Brabus kit (which does not affect warranty) and a lot cheaper (I presume), but would you do this on a (brand) new car? Clearly some do..

DMS cheaper? That's certainly a new one to me, they're normally 3-4 times more expensive than they need to be.

Brabus only commands a higher price tag to retain the warranty provided it is fitted by MB and the car is within the qualifying criteria of less than 2 years old and under 18k miles.

If you're not going to qualify for the MB warranty retention then it would be better to go elsewhere for a lot cheaper but if it was me it wouldn't be DMS because you pay for a name there are many alternatives out there.

As has been said before a rolling road can tell you whatever the operative wants it to.

With regards to the delay in response from standstill, how do they propose to have dealt with that? A gearbox software update? Sprintbooster? Can't see how a remap will do anything for that.

Matt, I'm potentially interested. Any reason you want to keep the price private?

I think there is the reason not to fit it, the box can't take it.

Wooops

Tell us more please DM - ie. what is this and why is it important
Exhaust Gas temperature.
If too high, which it is very likely to be as Mercedes already go as far as they can, the turbo, pistons and valves can melt or be damaged.
Damage occurs every time the temperature gets too hot but is gradual and incremental, until one day...

EGT can be a problem - as you say its a longer term issue... if you are keeping the car 2 yrs 30,000 miles then moving it on it is unlikely to be an issue for you but the person who buys it next will wonder where it all went wrong if they drive it hard enough, regularly enough.....remaps are like smoking.. we all know they are bad... doesn't stop many doing it.

I had my c320 cdi (2008) done at Viezu and you can see in the picture what it all got pushed to

I used DMS for my 335d and they were excellent. Their published prices are high but they will normally do a deal especially for a group booking but they don't want those prices published on the web.

I've heard of excellent results from mapping the 265bhp engine.

We can map this car to 305 bhp but I wouldn't recommend it, you have to keep below the 700Nm torque or you just destroy the box I've seen a few with 710Nm torque and that soon wrecks the box get even close to that magic 700 Nm figure and longevity drops dramatically as that's the weakest link. Also worth noting as DM points out the first time the car goes to a dealer and gets plugged in and they see what you have done that's the end of the MB warranty.

Nice to have that power but it comes at the price

As previously stated warranty flies striaght out of the window closely followed by insurance cover unless the ins co has been informed of and has agreed agreed to the upgrade

I have a 420CDI GL which has 700nm torque. I thought about the Brabus upgrade and decided against it because it would have boosted the torque above the 700nm figure.

Does the GL have a 'box which is rated higher than 700nm? I tried to find out at the time but , as far as I could see, the torque rating for the 'box is 700nm.

If it has a higher rating I would still consider fitting the Brabus kit.
