I've trashed my car

green cars

Annie had a green Rover 820 - definitely an "unlucky" car.

all in a year

1, hit whilst parked outside the house - minor damage to rear bumper and lights

2, hit whilst parked in the town - front wing, headlamp and wheel damage

3, lorry pulled out in front of her on a country road - she went into the hedge and a fence - same front wing, front bumper, headlight and wheel.

The recovery guy and copper at the scene also told her about the unlucky green car thing.

Im just back from hollibags and working my way through the 7 new pages of posts :S

Sorry to hear about everyones cars :( Hope you are all ok.

Well, an assessor (sp??) has been to look at the car and verbally approved the repairs. he'll fax authorisation tomorrow morning. he's happy for me to get the facelift bits and pay the difference. :bannana:

don't get the driver's side tyres replaced so I'll have to get those myself as i don't want half-worn on one side and brand new on the other. they're michelin sports. any good?

i'll also have to get the driver's side wheels refurbed myself.

found out today that there was another accident at the same spot on tuesday night. an artic was involved and the police were turning cars away.

At least the car should look great when you get it back. Talk to the bodyshop re the wheels, they will possibly do you a good deal on the refurbs.
Why not keep the part worn tyres and put them up front as you now know the rear breaks free first anyway?

I mentioned the refurbed to them but need to follow this up properly.

Wheels at the back are wider (225 vs 205) so can't put a rear tyre on a front wheel.

here's some piccys then.......

i don't get a courtesy car as i'm having it done at an MB garage which is not on their list of approved garages. i'm actually coping quite nicely without a car. i even used a bus at the weekend :p

I can, although its not a pretty sight.

Used a bus? whats one of those then?? BTW sorry it looks so sad sat there, hope you manage to get it back to its former glory.

 Ouch !!! that gotta hurt.

Im surprised the garage can't supply a courtesy car whilst the repairs are in progress, even if its only a banger, got to be better than a bus.

My MB garage can't provide a courtesy car unless they get a month's notice! Popular place I suppose.

Simon,

The pics make for painful/sad viewing :( I look forward to seeing the next set of pictures where the car is fully repaired with facelift bumpers :D

Heh I've heard that some members here will go to extreme lengths for a mod but yours is the most hardcore method I've known ;)

Hi guys,

I'm sure the car will look good as new when they've finished, although next time I need some new parts I'll make sure I've got a protected NCB ;)

LOL @ Flyer about the "lexus" clusters. :D

Don't tell the environmentalists but living in a city I don't really *need* a car, so I'm coping fine without one. Everywhere's within walking distance. I can put the petrol money towards my excess as well. I normally car-share to work so that's covered. In fact my pal who i car-share with wants me to do a bit of the driving so i'll be getting a taste of the dark-side for a few weeks - he has a BMW328i coupe.

I wonder if ebay's got any red light sabres.....
