Where do I position/locate a trolley jack on the floor to lift my SLK320 (year 2000)? I have the jack that locates in the holes on the sill but would prefer to use a trolley jack for lifting each corner & I can't see anywhere obvious to position a trolley jack!

just behind the front wheel arch 20 cm in and 20cm behind.. i think for front wheels..

i presume the same for the the back, but infront of the rear wheels.. there is a slightly curved plate that i have seen used on mine before..

For what its worth I'd use the jack provided and then pop Axel stands under the car rather than rely on the trolly jack, that way you are safe. ;)

So are you only trying to lift one corner?

Surely do same as any indie or garage. In the middle centre on the engine block or slightly aft!

As the beams close around the prop shaft there is a spot ?

If you lift off the engine block all the weight of the car is going through the engine mounts , the 'wrong' way and risks tearing them . I'm not familiar with SLK's but if there is a sturdy cross member then that would be ok to lift by . Also , unless the load is spread by a sheet of wood or similar , there is a risk of cracking the sump if using a jack under one point of an engine .

Don't SLK's have rubber 'bungs' in the sill bottoms for jacking like other models do ?

BTW - see 'sticky' on 'safe use of jacks' at the top of this section .

Yes, I'd like to be able to lift one corner, using a trolley jack & want to know where under the car is safe to do so!
