Jag

I imagine it'll fall short in several MB aspects, but at least it wont rust like a MB ;)

I must see the interior is stunning, but from what I've read of the extensive reviews, it just doesn't ride like Jags of old, and is really quite sporty. It's certainly not the most attractive Jaguar ever produced.

because that's a huge problem. mabe for some but it dose not cost much to put right

Why would you buy that when you could buy a proper car like a Mercedes. Never seen the Jag attraction.

+1 st the money for this jag is C63 money a C63 is 10x the car this jag could ever be

I think it looks great and the pewter paintwork is fab, although i think Jaguar's should be deep dark red or BRG.

They are completely different types of car aimed at totally different types of buyer.

You're all having a laugh, get those Mercedes blinkers off for a second!! :D

I have seen a few of these now and their on road presence is pretty impressive, it managed to look both elegant, menacing and contemporary which is pretty good going in my book.

There was a black one parked up is Maastricht next to a black S Class the other night and everyone was wowed by the big Jag.
I love the big Merc, and we have a 730d sport and never really looked at Jags before, but I would take the new XJ over any of the big German 3 marques offerings.

You are joking have you ever driven either?

Jag XJ or a C63 I think some have rose tinted specs and blinkers.

Most of you know I hate jags with a passion until I went in this one, the XJ is awesome it's road presence blinds a C63 by miles it's not in S65 territory but it is poles apart from a C63 which is basically a bog standard family car with a great big engine shoehorned into it. If you want to put things up against the C63 there are loads better out there I just can't see the attraction of a C63 personally, yet this jag conveys class and style and is quality nothing like the XF for example (XFR excluded) build quality is leagues above C or E class.

Are they about in the UK yet? the one I was in was being run by our company drivers in Germany, so was able to get a shot in it back to the airport, it had me hooked. Class act that will be hard to follow :thumb:

*** - we need to discuss at the next GTG. I'd swap my E Class in a heartbeat for a Jag. :)

I sat in one of these at the Canary Wharf MotorExpo and despite feeling a bit cosy (and I'm not tall) it was a special place to sit. Lovely attention to detail too. Rear lights are my only bugbear with these.

err no thanks i might buy something crap :D
you seem to forget than everyone is wowed buy a 3 series these days so strangers being wow'd carries no weight.

I have an E320cdi avantgarde estate, however, I do recognise when the competition does something well, the XJ is meant to ride wonderfully it looks funky and modern and the interior is as good as it gets.

A Ford Mondeo in cloak but at C43 price. Ford technology are ahead of Merc but Ford used the cheapest parts for maximum profit. Or worse still Tata technology!

That's what I was thinking too, why the feck would you compare a luxury barge mile muncher with a C63?? :D

C63 vs M3 vs RS4 vs IS-F

XJ vs A8 vs 7 series vs GS vs S Class

There was a survey done a couple of years ago on one of the motoring TV shows, they asked the general public which was the most prestigious car out of a line up, there was a 5 series, E Class, Lexus of some description and an X-Type, and the Jaguar although the cheapest was picked by 80% of the poll.
All my mates laugh at me now I have bought another Merc, for most it is seen as a brand that their Dads apsired too, for some strange reason they all thought my Audi of all things was a much nicer and more desireable car.

You need to really know Mercs to appreciate them, but not as many do as we think.

For obvious reasons I've seen quite a lot in the West Midands.

Didn't you read the newspaper article, Theresa May was the first one to use it so will the PM with armour plate which will cost us even more money out of our pocket?
