In my experience once a battery has gone flat it's never quite the same again.
How old is it by the way?

Unfortunately I can't be sure of the age of the battery. :(
Its been a bit neglected recently with not getting driven very far, and I've just been away for a while (holiday - not prison).

Already have a charger, so will see if that will ressurect it for now.

Cheers

Mark.

Well I should have listened to my betters.
Trying to charge the battery failed, and I'm now going to have to purchase a new one. :(

Now where are the forceps to force open my wallet.

Cheers

Mark.

If it's been allowed to stand in that condition for any length of time, definitely. Lead/acid batteries start to suffer damage to the plates at around 12.4V (75% charge), so try to keep them fully charged.
