After much deliberation my head beat my heart and it was a practical car that won the day - the sports car can wait for another summer.

So it's an ML320cdi with Brabus D6 upgrade. I picked it up tonight and had a 2 hour drive back - it really is very impressive. The power and grip are ridiculous for a 4x4 and of course it is just perfect for m-way cruising. M-way overtaking is far too easy.

Its in rare silver (!) and has a couple of extras - full command, iphone cradle, electric boot open/close, parktronic, wheels etc. No heated seats which was on my list of must haves so i will be going out for quotes to get these retro fitted before winter beckons.

The S211 is for sale now, advert to follow at weekend.

Here's a few auto trader shots of the new ML for starters until i get it spruced up;

PS The "tips" are filfthy black - anyone know if it's possible to get enough access to polish them up without dropping the rear boxes?

Niiiice!! I'm sure you'll continue to be impressed.

Congrats on the purchase! :)

It looks fantastic and it comes with a great spec.

Enjoy! :thumb:

Looks great - nice wheels! :thumb:

Nice car Gregg! I recently had an ML500 for a few days and asside form the fuel consumption, it was a great car! I really liked the hugh driving position compared with the S211.

Great car. Spot on with the comfort and motorway cruising...

As for the exhausts try shiny sinks then any metal polish...:thumb:

Mark.

I very nearly got one of these before going for my E280 Estate. I do 20,000/year and the extra fuel costs put me off, but not before I had a nice long test in one ;) They are nice.

Thanks i'll try that (i admit i had to google shiny sinks to then be  to see it was a sink shining cream!!!).

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, will post more photos asap.

Anyone else got an ML Sport or an MB with sports seats? :D
Anyone else built like a rugby player? :thumb:
Anyone else get incredible back ache fron the seats? :(
Anyone got any ideas of what to do? :o:o

2nd day in the ML (i average 3-4 hours a day in the car) and i can't get the seat to suit me, the side bolsters make the actual back of the seat really narrow?

Hello

Looks nice the wheels set it off. What upgrade does the D6 give? any MPG runs? what does it do..

I'm tempted with a new shape, but I do like mine a lot :)

OOooer!! Bad news indeed....:(

I (sadly) am not built like a rugby player. I do however have sports seats and find it snug and quite possibly one of the most comfortable seats in a car I have sat in...that's from a 13st 6 footer(ish :o)

I had an Astra Sportive for work about 3 yrs ago and this had sporty seats too, I couldn't work out for several months why I always had a bad back until I realised it was these seats.
The car was quickly changed for a Astra Design and I've not had any problems since...

If it keeps giving you grief then it wont take long before you have to take serious action to change it as you will find a lot of reasons not to drive it....:(

I had the same problem in the B class, found that i needed to sit upright more and slouch less to get comforatble.. basicly sit correctly and it was very confotrable and supportive. was just a hard habit to break from slouching a lot in my previous car.

I know, i am trying to stick with it but i used my wifes Legacy today to give the back a rest. I'm 15st and 5' 9", my shoulders extend about 6 inches past each bolster edge :(:(

But when i do drive it my god its so smooth and powerful!

Not sure if my ML has sport seats or not, its the SE version not the Sport.

Yes I am a big lad, as Ewans states I find with the seat back upright the seats are more comfortable
