Where's the link - i'm lazy can't be bothered to search...!!! :)

Pretty much most 'normal' company cars are going to seem pretty tame after your current one....

Shame you cannot Eeeek out 2bhp more..... 600 Bhp ! wow

You need a Kllleeeeennnnmannn number plate surround that should do it...

Good luck

Good luck with your sale....
Err just a thought regarding the company car....

When I used to work for Sun Microsystems some 6 years ago, I and many of my fellow colleagues were given company cars, that or take the cash option instead. Pound for pound and given the company car tax rules, many of us did the figures and opted to take the cash. Not only was it more tax efficient, it also enable many of us to buy a car of our choice and one that we got to keep and have something to show for our efforts at the end of the day. Many figured it better instead of getting slotted into a company car of the employers choice, that on occasions, you will have to lend out or whatever in the event of xyz occuring....

Like I say, just a thought thats all. :) ;)

598 was before the "race cats and exhaust" so should be well past the sexcentennial mark by now.

I really, really need to start working out whether it's the right time to buy an E55. Between this one (gurgle - but where's the distronic? :( ) and another one on PH with some tasty CF bits I'm really starting to get the next-car itch.

Good luck with the sale - and if it's still hanging around in a week or 2 don't be surprised if I PM you :thumb:

Anyone want a C43? :D

@ Gridlock, this is a very special car with some tasty mods, a real one off and you've been making E55 noises for a while, this could be "the one" for you :D

To the OP - why are you selling it after less than a year of ownership? This was Scorchers old motor and from all the posts i remember at the time a properly sorted one to boot.

I hankered after this car when Scorcher had it, but I need an Estate so couldn't go for it.
If you are after an E55 then I would give this one a very good look.

I know, I know.. I'm a little concerned by the rate it's racking up new owners, and it's too far from Olly to get a trusted inspection done AFAIK.

Having said that, I'm struggling to not book a viewing. Requires sleeping on it I think.

ETA: Does anyone have any opinions on the possibility of obtaining a warranty?

I agree with you. With the allowance I'm getting (which isn't much since i'm still a junior manager) it was paying for the petrol on the V8 easily and if i averaged the maintenance by month, it covered that too. And since I always buy second hand cars under 5K, i dont have to worry about depreciation.

But dvb247 has got a 600bhp E55, so i'm not sure it would work the same for him... :D

Its known to the forum, and IIRC I cannot remember hearing bad of the car....

IIRC the OP is based in cheshire??? MB tech Warrington could look at it for you.

Cars like AMG's etc change hands quite a lot, they are more of a luxury/fun purchase blah blah blah....

When scorcher unloaded it the car was in A1 nick IIRC (the OP didn't join with tales of needing a new engine etc) and the OP selling due to new job, fairly understandable and explainable circumstances.

Just out of curiousity, that gearbox must take a lot of strain, is it beefed up as 600bhp means a lot more torque???

Its a lovely car and would be nice to see it in the forum. I'd have it in a heart beat if I didn't drive 25k/yr and could afford its running costs...

Cannot edit for some reason but have re-read post 1

^^^ Agree..

I believe the car had MB warranty when sold to current owner. Also the engine and gearbox can handle allot of power, I would not worry about that at all.

Good luck with sale.

Chattonmill- regd distronic i have to disagree, i love it, it works great on the motorway and A roads, i use it all the time, never had a problem with it picking up things on bends in the next lane, maybe yours need calibrating?

DVB - good luck with the sale

I just live in the Stix, so even the Dual carriageways are windy! On general motorways etc it is fine, but I just find it annoying, I certainly wouldn't discount a car because it wasn't there.
