Hello everyone,

I've Just purchased a 1999 W208 230 sport. Very pleased with it, just thinking of a few things to do to her.

Change headlamps to clear, current ones look dated.
Lower slightly.
Sort rust out on arches & roof. Thankfully very early stages.
Change alloy colour to metallic gunmetal.
Maybe small spoiler at rear and possibly roof wrap in carbon fiber to protect once rust sorted.

Car is currently silver.

I'm in Essex near colchester and new to the Merc scene.

Any tips and ideas welcome,

Thanks all,

Ash

Hi Ash, good choice of car. :)

I've got a 2000 convertible, so I may be a little biased :D

Welcome excellent choice of car and same car as mine except yours is 2 years newer, mine is lowered 35mm, has uprated Supercharger pulley and larger intercooler. A massive amount of head work, performance cams, larger valves, bigger fuel pump, AP racing brake upgrade, Staggered Wheel & tyre set up + loads of cosmetic stuff. Now running 278 bhp. I still love mine after 7 years and it still brings a grin to my face every time i drive her.

Here she is in all her finery

Wow! She's stunning!

I was toying with changing the pully chipping and better intercooler, but not really looked into the gains.

Loving the wheels, what size are they?

Thanks Its a labour of love :D

Wheels are 18" staggered Brabus Monoblock VI

Chipping gives you 12 bhp - 15 bhp (you physically have to remove the ECU EEPROM and solder in a new one, not for the faint hearted) that might not be the case on yours if its a facelift model if it has an OBD2 port in the car you can map via that

Pulley & Intercooler give you 25 bhp - 30 bhp

Thats about as much as you can do with the M111 engine without going back to old school tuning like I did and sort the head.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine and if I can help with anything just shout and If I don't know there's plenty on here that do its a real friendly place (most of the time :D )
