K&N air filter on W204 C220CDI

Is anyone using a K&N air filter on their W204 C220CDI?

Reason I'm asking is that I used to run one on my IS200, and the main reason I ran one was it didn't need replacing (being a lifetime unit).

So, is anyone using one on their W204 C220CDI? Is it recommended, if so can someone tell me how you fit it, as the engine is covered in a big plastic cover. Some instructions on how to remove this cover would be good.

I have a K&N filter with an old 'mechanical MAF' - no problems but no real advantages either aside from change intervals.

Some people report issues with K&N filters causing oil and other build-up on hot-wire MAFs. If these reports are true I would not bother with K&N. Just change the filter for an original quality paper element and enjoy.
