(I've never had a garage before!)

Very nice.

I'm the opposite - always had a garage and now don't :( Not that a car ever got in it of course. Edna managed about two weeks in the garge when i got her:D

Don't forget that only dry cars should go in the garage!

Doesnt look like it fits through that garage door??

It's tight ... an inch or two each side of the door mirrors (which don't fold). Length is fine, plenty of room to get out if I drive it in forwards.

Yup. It's pretty well ventilated though (a bit less now that I've filled in a 12" gap under the side door frame  )

I'm so glad to see that someone at last uses a Garage for it's intended purpose.

So anoying seeing people use a Garage for basically 'crap' and leave their pride and joy outside....Grrrrrrrrrr :(

Just wish I had one........ :)

Yup the previous owners had it crammed to the roof with rubbish. When we moved in it didn't look too bad (some shelf units with old tins of paint, rolls of wallpaper, etc.) until I peeked into the roof space. Took me a whole day to remove rolls of carpet, doors, christmas tree, christmas decorations, a pair of oars, full size scaffolding plank, etc. etc. and take down the plasterboard they'd hacked holes in to poke stuff up into the roof.

With that and removing a pond in the back garden I completely filled a 12 yd skip.

Yup, strange. There are two phone sockets in there ... apparently ours was the show house originally, and the garage was the sales office. I guess that's why it's painted white inside, and the ceiling was plasterboarded.

I would rather have a single large door, but there are separate lintels so the centre pillar is load-bearing ... therefore a mega expensive change, I assume.

I was thinking the same...perhaps you could use this as a reason to get one of the gullwing door MBs :)

On my fourth place with garage and used every one for the car.

I didnt want this problem when I had my double garage built, as size was not a issue, so I had it built with 10' wide doors. Enough space to fit two cars, with space for two bike in the middle. See avatar

What do you mean? My wife has always been allowed in the garage.

Some of the single garages I looked at were only about 6" wider inside than the door width ... so you could never have got out of the car! One of them was brand new too, there was plenty of space to have more width (and length) but they had basically built a large shed IMO!

If a housebuilder constructs a new house with a garage, it becomes "Executive", and they can charge more for it. Doesn't matter that the garage can't be used for a car though....

If you intend to keep both cars in the garage you will become incredibly inventive at packing extra stuff into the space.

I have tool cupboard, shelves, pressure washer, trolley jack, two bikes and loads of other stuff in there as well as assorted stuff in the loft.
Still get both cars in though.;)
