This is a demonstration of stupidity of people not stupidity of technology!
Although in the person A drives to drop off point, drivers swap and person B drives off scenario - it's and easy mistake to make.

But ignoring the warning lights and driving on...

I had a Morris Minor once -- anyones key would unlock and start it..

Where I did my apprenticeship, we had a Talbot van that you could start up with a chip fork!
Once it was running it didn't need the key either!
Those were the days.....

This is a PICNIC fault.

Person In Chair/Charge Not In Computer.

Its a bit like seeing blue lights behind you on a marked police car and not stopping. I saw the lights guv just did not think you meant me.

Interesting. I have Keyless Go and have wondered before what would happen if I drove off without the key. Now I know :thumb:

This is clearly the drivers fault. As soon as the warning appears on the dash you have to consider how you will address the situation not just keep driving on hoping it will go away. Even if the driver was unable to get back to where the key was located she should have moved over to the inside land and left the motorway at the next exit not just sat in the 3rd lane :wallbash:

Got to be driver error i think,it's been mentioned that the driver did see warning messages on the dash but chose to carry on without stopping & investigating/calling mb 24 rescue-simples!

Thought I'd post to bring this poll back round, cant believe that most MB owners think this is a good idea?

I lived in several countries where driving a mb, bmw or any car under... oh. 15 years old put you at a real risk of carjacking...

I would HATE to have an angry guy with a crowbar and a gun finding out the car stalls the instant I get politely asked to leave the car...

I would much rather they get some distance and then the car shuts down on them.

The car does warn you that you don't have the key in the car, and it doesn't shut down unless it's safe to do so (i.e. when YOU stop the car)
