Can anyone give me a good reason why I shouldn't have my air con regassed at Kwik Fit ?? They seem to be doing a good deal (as I hear on the radio) at about £45. Anyone had any problems??:dk: Am in SW18, if someone can recommend a decent alternative

My general Kwik Fit experience is that they are neither cheap nor good.
But maybe their air-con service differs?
Yellow pages has a few alternatives here, try calling for a cheaper quote.

this was discussed before and the majority i think agreed it was good.

i took my wifes car there a few weeks back - it was regassed and was a lot better, but she reckons its now not as cold, but thats probably an issue with the car, but they do a leak test before regassing.

if they cant do it or its not a lot colder then they shouldnt charge you AFAIK

All you need to know HERE from previous Thread

Always take mine there no problems as they only hook it up to the machine so cant really screw anything up, good service and good value

Fantastic; thank you for the advice. Next question: it hasn't been re-gassed for about 3 years - will this pose any more of a problem ??

Just booked in for a service at main dealers. 'Recommended option' air con service at £39.95.

I'll not be taking it but you may wish to enquire of your own dealership.

Are you sure that was for a re-gas? (dealers usually charge that amount for removing the dust filter and squirting some anti-stink into the pipework....).

Just had my air con regassed at Kwit Fit last Sunday. Coupled it to the machine and let it do it's thing.

No problems whatsoever, I now have ice cold air again. £45 compared to the dealer wanting £105 plus VAT

My MB dealer has 2 air con options, the cheapest is £49.95 consists of checking the air con belts/system for faults etc & putting an anti bacterial treartment through the vents.

The next option includes regassing the system, it costs £129.95.

I did the Kwik Fit deal too- with no issues at all. Took about 40 mins and certainly a lot colder. Enjoying the fridge feeling!
