Legionnaires' Disease! in your washer bottle?

So do I have to stop aiming my screen washers so they hit lycra louts!! But only the louts not the proper cyclists.
There is a fair old bit of welly in the single sweep 124 blade. Goes for miles!!!

Reminds me to fill my washer bottle. Finally got to the end of the load that the factory put in! Not too bad - it's lasted me 2200 miles.

I have never put plain water in my washer bottle, no matter what car I have owned. Always kept a small bottle of concentrate in the boot just in case I ran out on a long run and needed a top up.

Plain old water just doesn't cut through bugs and tougher grime - you need screen wash to keep the screen clean.

If you go looking hard enough for Legionella bacteria, you'll find it in loads of places. It exists in nature, so all we need do is try to find it and it will be there. Anthrax, botulism, tetanus, plague, salmonella etc are out there too if you look hard enough.

I always use screenwash in my car but just add plain water to the works van . The washer bottles on my cars are nice and clean but the one in the van always has flakes of black algae floating around inside it !

Now I know why , but I'm still not paying to put screenwash in the van .

From a health and safety point of view the firm should be paying for/reimbursing you for the screenwash in their vehicle.
The last time I used the company van it was snowing, so I purchased an ice scraper and some sreen wash, and put the reciepts into petty cash, and got the money back, no questions asked. I left both items in the van for the next driver.
