Lock Down Detailing - Anyone? :)

I too use DI water for my final rinse in the summer for the bodywork, but still use a damp towel with a drying aid on it to safely remove the remaining water, As for a blower.. I have a cordless Flex Blower, they are quire expensive TBH, and not powerfull enough to dry a whole car but great for engine bays, doorshuts, lights , grilles etc, Dewalt also do the same version. you can get a corded Blower for half the price with the same power but I hate dragging cables around so found the cordeless a better option.

Just my luck! my friend was getting rid of his pet dryer as he had now got one of those carbon collective dryers.

I've just used the pet dryer and its a godsend for the wheels / nooks and crannies! Can't believe i didn't get one earlier.

That's the biggest benefits, i takes longer to blow dry a whole car than towel dry one, but the shuts, grilled lights handles etc a bloody nightmare.. And wheels, i hate hand drying wheels.

Wouldn’t claim to have detailed them, but as well as our fleet of two, I’ve cleaned three cars for neighbours - a Jazz for an 81 yr old widow, a 320d estate (yes I touched a B*W) for a severely arthritic pal, and his wife’s Jazz.

In each case it was a hose down, 2BW, hose, clay mitt, 2BW, hose, pat dry, AG SRP then a good coat of G3 Super Paste wax. Rain-x on the windows.

I don't have any specific protection product for wheels, so they just had a G3 coat, and I did the tyres with the ubiquitous Megs Endurance.

The hardest bit with the latter two cars was the green mould in all the hinge areas, which obviously hadn’t been touched by the local ‘professional’ hand wash lads for a long time.

Well that was 3 days of lockdown sorted.....
