Hello there,

I am wondering if any of you have fitted custom made long-life exhaust to thier cars (http://www.exhausts.uk.com) if so, how are they compared to Remus type one and the like? Do you think it's a good idea to have these aftermarket exhaust fitted (to complement my chipped oil-burner). Long-life particularly has a life time warranty on thier work and thier website looks convincing. Cheers.

Used both before. The custom made stainless exhaust is loud, and can get tiring as there seems to be a band in the rev range where it booms.
The remus on the other hand is a deeper note, and less tiring on the ears. I would probably go for another remus as the stainless is not designed for your vehicle, it uses universal silencers.

The Longlife exhaust made the car feel quicker, but the Remus didn't.

Oh cheers, very interesting. So one seems to make to car quicker but with more noise, but other is vice-versa. Then what about the claim by long-life that they can tune the exhaust to be quiet or loud??? Any truth in that? Mine is a C220 CDi W203 by the way.

Btw, quietness is my priority over noise. I think my car already goes like stink..so need to have more feel to that.

Yes but their quiet doens't improve performance due to added mufflers etc. But still it doesn't sound quiet. Its the boom i hated.

Ok thanks, perhaps I'll be paying more attention to remus then :)

btw, where's the best place to install remus, i know mercperformance does it..anyway else and cheaper??

Elite Motorsports in Rainham Essex.

Hi again,

Had a look at this place in the website you mentioned. Do these ppl fix the exhaust on-site, if they do how's the price like?

I paid £350 for my Remus exhaust for a SL. Fitted on site free of charge.
