Looking to buy an E63, what to look out for?

Sorry a bit late to the party, not been on here a while. Interesting to see what the OP got in the end.
I can add my chorus of praise for these cars- I’ve a late 2014 which I got in March, done 8k in it and like others its not missed a beat. I bought it outwith MB but with full MB service history - that meant I didn’t get the 2 year AMG warranty but I had a year already and have just extended Tier 1 for £1005 a year.
The car was c5k below any dealer price for similarly miles and spec car so I’m quids in still.
All I’ve had to do is put pads on, everything else is good.
Just an awesome car

So the time is nearly upon me... The pick up day is now slightly earlier and I will be picking her up at 14:00 on Friday! Excited isn't the word!

A couple of pics from Saturday when I placed the deposit. A relatively standard car, 2014/14 with 24k miles, Grey with Black leather, optional matte black wheels and the 360 camera make up the options list. It has everything else I expected as standard including the keyless-go and keyless-entry. 2 year warranty included at a price I couldn't say no to.

Looks great in the darker grey.

Is the AMG warranty transferrable though as i've recently bought one with the 2yr warranty and they advised me it is not transferable to a new owner? Great if it is!

It is transferable. MB told me mine was when I was considering a quick change not long after a buying.

Very nice, amazing cars I miss mine :(

You're in for a treat. My car has been away for two weeks having front bumper repairs after my wife hit a section of lorry tyre on the motorway, and I'm missing it dreadfully. I'm driving a diesel Jag XE and it's just a horrible come down, good as it actually is.

Just checked my Tier 1 warranty conditions and as you say it is indeed transferable, with a nominal £25 admin fee....

liking the saloon, but prefer the look of the wagon personally :) Also amplifies the sound of the exhaust so you don't need to drive around with the windows open ;)

All I can say is WOW! What an amazing car, calm and comfortable when you want, and an absolute monster for any other time!

Covered around 120 miles last night taking the wife for a celebratory meal alongside the horrible 2 hour start stop journey on the M25, quite economical but I didn’t buy it for that.

Can’t wait to detail it on Monday to bring it up to my standard... then I will share some pics. Being 3 years old and bad wash technique, there are a lot of swirls :(

Glad to hear you're impressed :thumb:

A used W212 E63 is something of a bargain in the AMG range, presumably because it's seen as "just a large saloon". How wrong that view is :D

So I spent the full 8 hours of daylight on Monday giving her the much needed treatment she needed in terms of a cleanup. Lets just say it was Swirl City!

After a complete decontamination shampoo, fallout remover, clay, tar removal, the paintwork was left in a state. Swirled, milky and dull (50/50 shot showing how bad). Previous owner's wash technique or lack of really showed for this 3 year old car.

I then used an oldie but goodie Meguiars 83 to clean and polish the surface to a 95% improvement, followed by Prima Amigo glaze by hand, and then topped off with Soft99 Fusso for the winter.

End result, stunning! This weekend will be wheels off and the Interior...
