looking to buy either c class or e class advice needed

im looking to buy either a c class diesel from 08 to 2012 or e class same yrs any info on best engine to go for and things to look out for any help or advice greatly appreciated regards steve

Loved my 2008 211 E 320 cdi AVANTGARDE, no DPF , very comfortable and very light on diesel, extremely reliable , was lucky it was low mileage when I bought it but would have been very happy to keep it for another 10 years had my wife not had a leg problem that made access difficult at he time.

C class is my personal choice , but even the Estate is not particularly big on the inside, mine has a big transmission tunnel making it a 4 seater only (unless a child its in the middle rear) . It depends on what you need the car for. An E class will be more practical for passengers....after all, a million taxi owners worldwide can't all be wrong, can they ?

E class - engine choice is either the 651 2.2L or the 642 3.0L V6

I went for the 651 as it’s more fuel efficient and in the 250 variant quite nice to drive.

Not an expert and never owned a C class but the E class seems to be more solidly put together.

E class if you need/want room and probably a better level of comfort . I've owned w211. W219 cls and now a c250 . I do prefer the stance of the c250 better the w211 was wallowy like a barge and wouldnt compete on the twistys with a w204. The w219 cls wouldnt either. More of motorway cars tbh.
