Low miles owners be quick .... Cls55 Amg

Sold at 12.30pm today.

Cheap car!

When I am looking at performance cars I always look to see if it's in the £415 or £735 tax bracket hence I'd prefer a '55' to a '63'... but maybe that's just me and no one else gets bothered about handing over cash to the tax man? Must be, it's sold!

I am very aware of the higher rate VED.
But, I then consider the total price - An extra £300 or so for the VED each year. If you keep the car for five years will be a total extra VED of about £1,500 (give or take for future increases in VED).
If the newer car is £2,000 cheaper to buy, and is newer, and is more economical on fuel, then it could be worth the extra VED...

If you're looking at high-performance cars with high fuel consumption, the VED is a rather smaller part of the running costs than on an economical runabout.

I see what you mean, but all things being equal I'd rather not chuck away money to the tax man needlessly. Besides which, that £320 requires most people to earn at least £500 in order to pay it, and some people about £600... Ouch

I've built many V8's but not a Mercedes 😎

Hats off to you👍 A testament to older generation Mercedes engines, many not requiring engine rebuilds, mostly over engineered to last forever. Newer stuff made to go faster but tend to break too 🙂
