m271 rich on idle after rebuild ?

Hi all new to this site need help. 2003 c180 coupe m271 engine I rebuilt new chain,head gasket, valves, etc started up first time purs like a kitten but smokes ( fuel ) on idle clear when you drive not head gasket no blockages. jugers a little bit in park but pulls great and clean when you drive it. it just won,t pass m.o.t. could it be the cat ? or injectors as got hi milage ? injector seals . any help would be much appreciated

car got no codes checked vacuum pipes and replaced 2 but still to rich to pass emissions ?? . could it be injectors as its high miles its done 199,000 ish ? any help its drivin me mad its prob a really silly fix ?

What was used to read the codes?
You really need to get it on a STAR to get live data. It sounds like an O2 sensor fault but only star will read the data.
