In preparation for the summer etc I've invested in making my W211 a bit more child friendly, some of the pics (blinds, boot mat) I thought would be of interest to some members:

New Car seat (Britax King Plus Group 1)

New Blinds (Genuine Mercedes)

New additional rear-view mirror (I did buy a Genuine Mercedes item, but despite it being for the E-Class it didn't fit?)

and finally a new boot mat (to protect the Mercedes one from the wet/dirty pushchair)

and something to stop little muddy footprints on the passenger seat back?

the plastic covers for the back seats are great, about a fiver from fleabay!, i also put seat protector mat under the car seat to stop any indentation to the leathers!

blinds look great :)

Very nice. i agree about the seat backs too for when she is older. Go for a good brand seat back rather than cheap as it wont stand up to the kicking. :o

i hope it stays that clean :D:doh: i've given up.

Baby on Board (Driver not concentrating on the road) sign ?

Ps, glad to see baby placed in safest location in the car.

Pps. Don't forget the child lock switch. She will open the back door when you don't believe she can possibly :-)

That looks way too clean....

Our little one takes allsorts with her in the car, agree with the seat back thing I need to get some of them.

I use carpet under the child seat which helps the leather and also grips better.

This is our little one in her first trip in a big seat (forward facing) maxi cosi tobi with self adjusting harness that springs open :) works great.

She's a tad bigger now (3) and am already looking at the next seat(s)....

good point, hadn't thought about that. Are they in the usual place? (the inner edge of the door?)

Looking good.

Those extra rear-view mirrors never stay put though. I've had them for years for the dogs ... I modify them now to have a round metal plate (large washer) in place of the suction cup, then bond onto the screen with 'mirror pads' (ultra strong double-sided pads for fitting normal rear-view mirrors to glass).

PS don't know if the 211 does this (I would expect so), but you can usually deactivate the rear window switches at the back as well.

It does. on the main control panel. +1 for child locks. The Renault system could be disabled/enabled with the window switch. Most disconcerting when the door handle was pulled by my madam on the motorway. Fortunately everything stayed pretty shut, and the car was very quick to let me know the door was open...

the blinds I got from Alps on here, but they are the same ones from the Mercedes dealers. The rear view mirror fell off the day after I bought it, but I'd just stuck it on, so I added a bit of spit to it and its stayed on since, it actually seems better than most as it has a thing to turn once initially applied that firms up the suction (but agreed, they can be a pain which is why I was going for the clip on Mercedes item)

They still don't stay on, particularly in warm weather!

it's annoying the genuine e-class one that is supposed to slide over the original mirror wouldn't fit.

Hi Gareth

The Baby proofing looks good, is the boot mat an original Mercedes item or aftermarket?

Thanks

Tan
