Map reading light

Isn't it irritating when your passenger tries to use the map reading 'projector(ish)' light mounted near the RVM, only to find that it has not been swapped over to the passenger side during the RHD(isation) process?

This is something I have noticed on my W202 and W208.

The map reading light is in the same location LHD/RHD but please note the lens has been altered for RHD models so the LH seat/map reading area is illuminated. Seems like a clever way to do it to me! If you don't believe me, just try it!

yes, it does illuminate the passenger side BUT it also causes the driver glare

A map is when you get fed up guessing where to go next, and have wasted at least 2 hours going nowhere or it's the device for those without access to satellites!

There is a simple solution...get sat nav! No need to dazzle anyone

On a similar note, I always thought that MB could swap the dials on the instrument cluster so that passengers had a better chance of seeing the clock as opposed to looking at engine temperature & fuel gauge.
