Does anyone know if the seat belts in the back seat of an ML270 (2001) are long enough to fit the maxi cosy baby seat? We bought it with the easybase that stays attached to the seat and then the seat belt just goes round the baby seat.

We did try it out in the shop but the shop on fitted it with the belt across the lap of the baby seat, on getting home and reading the instructions we see that the seat belt is meant to go across the lap and then around the back of seat.

Is it possible to get longer seat belts fitted?

Thanks

i would definately check, we use a maxi cosy in the back and it just about fits, middle belt in the back on most cars is shorter, pop into mothercare or toys r us and try it again!

Are you using a Maxi-Cosi Easi Base?, if you car has ISOFIX and the EasiFix base (ISOFIX compatible) then the seat just clicks into place.

We've just bought the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio Fix & Easi Base to use in our W203, haven't tested it yet  although the instructions & Maxi Cosi website indicate it will fit fine.

The instructions also show it as being compatible with the ML.

I have a feeling the ISOFIX only came in on MY2002 facelift (indicators in mirrors) ML

Phew, need to check Dad's ML as I may be borrowing it as a mini bus for a while when the little one arrives!

Our 203 doesn't have ISOFIX  but I went for the base that is ISOFIX compatabile as it can be used both ways (maybe I'll get an E55 estate with ISOFIX), think she'll see straight through that idea though ;) .

Hi
Thanks everyone, i am using the easybase (not easyfix) which is a base that sitson the rear seat secured by the seatbelt and then the belt goes round the back of the car
I think the easyfix base can only be used when you have isofix?
Why do they not make car seats simple?????

The EasyFix base can actually be used in both ways, on cars with ISOFIX fittings and also with the standard seatbelt fitting. That's why we chose that base as one of our cars has ISOFIX whilst the other doesn't, gives us a bit of flexibility.

Hello

We use the maxicosi with easy base in our two cars the ML and the wifes A class.

The easybase system is great just swap the seat between cars no fuss no phaffing in the rain. Well worth getting.

We didn't get the isofix base as the wifes car does not have the system but even using the seat belt on the base once the baby seat is in place its solid, VERY solid.

so yes it should fit your car no problem
