MB factory fitting Hankook tyres

nothing wrong with hankook tyres but still in the world of tyres there classed as a mid range tyre not a premium tyre would you be happy to buy a boss suit and wear it with primark shoes , just a thought .
how many other parts on mercedes arnt premium parts infact not just on mercedes my friends aston has wing mirrors with volvo stamped underneath iam sure the list of manufactures doing this is endless

Could be worse imagine finding that some of your switch gear in your Bugatti was the same as that in a VW polo.

yes your right that is worse how can they get away with it or are the parts from vw volvo etc as good as anything aston or bugatti would make themselves i had to replace a tyre pressure sensor valve on a Bentley continental , original part is stamped up VW/AUDI 160 from Bentley sixty five pounds oe from a tps company on ebay , i suppose all this is nothing new and been going on for years

I would assume the difference between mid-range and high-end has a strong correlation to the amount spent on marketing.

A bit like premium vs supermarket fuels.

I had Conti's on my C Class Estate until chunks starting falling off the rear right and I mean chunks. Still had 5mm left on them. Took it back to the dealer who has sent the tyre back to Conti asking for a refund. Dealer tried to get me to buy new Conti's which I refused and went for Avon Z5's which I find quieter and a tad wider very happy with them. Oh yeah and £50 a boot cheaper.

There is thread after thread out there regarding Conti tryes ageing really poorly, they rubber hardens far too quickly and they crack.
I suggest anyone with them at over 3 years old looks carefully inside the treads.

One of my favourites is the Kumho KU39, great tyre and a great price.

My ContiPremiumContact2 MO are 4 years old and look fine, I had no issues with them.

Would gladly buy Conti again, though I am tempted to try Dunlop Sport BlueResponse (sadly no MO option).

Are you worried about it being an MO option?

As long as it meets the requirements surely that is OK? Otherwise you could miss out on some of the best tyres out there.

There was no MO option on the Goodyear EfficientGrips, but so pleased I bought them, so, so, so quiet and comfy.
On the ML I went from Michelins on 17s to the Goodyears on 19s and the 19s were more comfortable and far quieter.

I think I will try the BluResponses next though, here they can be just as quiet but actually feel a little more responsive.

Now we are getting 66db volumes on tests they are getting seriously quiet, the difference in the cabin is amazing.

I would prefer to buy MO where possible (the price is usually the same anyway), just like the pen in my glove compartment has the Mercedes Benz logo :)

However I have no illusions regarding MO tyres being superior, and if there is no MO option for the tyre I want then so be it.
