Mb warranty

Hi guys

1st post for me

I'm in the process of buying my 1st c63 and I have around 28-30k to spend. My question is if I buy a non approved used car can I buy a tier 1 or 2 warranty from MB?

Yes i'm sure you can, i think the car has to go through a check and any items identified replaced before the warrenty starts though

As above, you can still take the MB warranty but the car will need to undergo a lengthy inspection as I understand it.

If you happen to go for one that is still covered by the factory warranty, you can then just take out a MB warranty when the factory one runs out without the car needing the inspection.

I took out a Tier 1 warranty on my E55 after I bought it. I didn't buy my car from an MB dealer so was not an approved used car as such, but it did have full MB service history. They didn't carry out an inspection of my car at all and I think was just based on it having the full service history.

Things may have changed though as that was 3 years ago, I didn't take the warranty out again this year as it doubled in price up to £3K as my car had gone over 60K miles so that may be worth bearing in mind. Its a good warranty though, if I were you I would give them a call to be sure.

Thanks so much for the replies great info, the cars I'm looking at are all low (20-30k) milers, and have full MB service histories just want to cover myself to be honest. Ill give my local dealer a call and let you know how I get on.

Oddly doesn't look like it has sat nav which I thought was standard? It says audio 20 not comand? Perhaps someone else can comment on the photo of the unit, since I'm a little hazy.

As an aside, you should be able to get them down a fair bit on price, I paid less then that for a higher spec one (dab, hi sound, reverse camera etc) 6 months ago from a main dealer.

Don't know where all of you guys getting your info. But I enquired with MB Warranty people recently and the rules that they told me:
- Does NOT have to have full MB history, as long as it has been serviced in line with manufacturer schedule, i.e. serviced when needed, etc.
- They do NOT inspect the car, but your warranty won't start cover for 30 days after you purchase it.

Hi, mate. The one at Pompey MB does look lovely, but as it only has audio 20 it is no good for me.

I understand Audio 20 is the basic setup, no additional speakers etc. it does have basic Bluetooth I believe.

Otherwise it does seem good.

Salisbury has some nice ones. I may have been persuaded to buy a rather nice brand new one from their stock. And I was only looking at their used ones.
