MB World Brooklands

I visited MBWorld today, and had a superb time drooling over the cars. If I had the £££, the CL600 would be the one for me I think, those power assisted doors are awesome.

Here's a couple of pics.

Also took the opportunity to realise a childhood dream by taking a "ride" on the newly restored G-BBDG in the Brooklands museum next door ;)

Weird seeing a Concorde so close to a tree...

Well worth a visit though. Tomorrow, 26th November, will the 3 year anniversary of the last ever Concorde flight.

Mmmmm... well apart from the Maybach, numerous tuned V12's, and Concorde.......

...is there a parts department there because my local dealer (Walton on Thames) closed when MB World opened?

[shuffles off to get anorak]

Walton on Thames IS now MB Brooklands - most of the staff have moved over.

Parts dept shuts at 2pm on sat - closed sunday.

Yes there is a parts department at Brooklands now :)

OMG - they had an ego problem before the move. Now that they are in a palace?

Thanks for the quick reply. Good to have an excuse to go.

Their egos have landed - they're not allowed out on the 'shop floor' unless meeting a customer.

Personally I prefer the old way of walking in and chatting to people.

GOD knows why they have a half day on saturday for parts - pathetic for a flagship dealer.

I agree - don't they realise that most people work mon-fri and aren't always up at the crack of dawn (when it's always busy too!) on a saturday just to pick up spares?

Went today - OK, but not all i thought it would be. Thought the staff were quite good really - especially the really nice bloke in the SLR and Maybach lounge who allowed by son under the barrier and to sit in the SLR and then took his photo

New CL not as good looking as the current :D in my view - although suspect current model will look dated soon :(

Think I'm quite glad that i don't have to use them as my local dealer - gather they've been merged from quite a wide geographical area.

Would post photos but part of the deal was my son had the camera during the trip...
