I use quite a bit of the Meguiars range, which I know is quite popular with forum members. I'm nearly out of car wash, so I was thinking of trying their latest variant, Ultimate Wash n Wax. Has anybody here tried it? On some of the other sites I visit, the reviews have not been overly positive.

On a related note, they now also have an Ultimate Quick Wax product, which appears to be an extremely convenient spray on, wipe off product. Again, I wondered if anyone here has used it? Not found any reviews of it on the net as yet.

I have got their Ultimate Quick Detailer, but I have yet to find any real use for this: maybe it's a summer product:)

not tried these new products ... nut i swear by meguiars gold class shampoo and there gold class wax, I have used lots of their products ... but these two bring out the black metallic flake really nicely on my obsidian black SL!! Highly recommended!!:bannana:

Ultimate Quick Detailer,is a spray on (not sure if its a wax or a ,),
a more expensive version of there Last touch ( approx £18 for 4 litres) and like the shampoo/conditioner all in ones for humans it will never be as good as separate shampoo and wax.

Hi

You may want to try something different?

Here is a shampoo that is cost effective as well as being one of the best on the market:

Duragloss: Duragloss 901 Car Wash Concentrate (CWC) 16oz by Duragloss - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt Hamber,

And another which also adds a very good level protection for a shampoo:

Nanolex: Nanolex Reactivating Shampoo 250ml by Nanolex - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt Hamber, Nanolex, Zaino,

Thanks for the recommendation. Could I ask, out of the regular car care products such as Autoglym, Meguiars, Poorboys etc, are there any other products you would recommend as particularly effective or good value for money? I am particularly thinking about polish, wax, and buffing cloths. I typically wash my car once a week, and polish every other month.

Don't use their consumer range, it's good but not cost effective.

For shampoo try this you dilute at 400:1
Instead of Ultimate Wax try this dilute 1:1, I use as an in between full on waxing sessions (ooeer Mrs!) but also as a drying aid. By this I mean I spray the product all lightly over the freshly washed car (snow foam, 2 bucket method etc etc) whilst still wet from rinse water, then using a drying towel (not a leather) dry the car to a sparkling finish!
For your wheels this dilute 4:1
For your glass this dilute 10:1

Ok I know, OTT maybe, but they are very good products and work out excellent value for money.

ps missed your post above

other items you may consider are:

wash mitt never use a sponge! drying towel never use a leather! micro fibre polishing cloth, then you may like to get serious! Get over to Detailing World for more advice.

Hi

Out of the "regular" as in did you mean high street shelved? There are only really Autoglym and Meguiars, Poorboys isn't stocked in these shops as far as I know. I'd be surprised if they were. I personally prefer the Meguiars of the two, however Duragloss is better than both for which there is a link in the previous post. It is also no more expensive.

Autoglym Shampoo for which you get an extra 100% FREE offer: Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner (500ml) 100% Extra FREE! by Autoglym - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt

Meguiars Shampoo: NXT - Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash - 473ml by Meguiars - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt Hamber, Nanolex, & Gold Class - Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo - 473ml by Meguiars - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt Hamber, Nanolex, Zaino,

Duragloss, my personal recommendation: Duragloss 901 Car Wash Concentrate (CWC) 16oz by Duragloss - Elite Detailer Ltd - Bilt Hamber,

Thank you.

By regular I was really referring to price range, as I tend to get most stuff from the net rather than going to car shops. Will check out some Duragloss.

i read the autoexpress weekly mag and autoglym have came tops on three of there range of late one being there aquawax whic was best in the wetwax trials great ffor a top up wax as its name says you simply spray on to pre-washed wet panel and dry with the to microfibres supplied in pack economical as well i must have used at least 30 timesand not yet finnished bottle all for around £13 , the other recent winner was rapid detailer which picked up best dry spray wax ,hope this is usefull to you :thumb:

What is 16oz and what is the mix ratio

Hi

It's about 470ml, and about 2-3 capfuls. The caps are quite shallow as well.
