Hi folks

Well it was only a matter of time until some **** snapped off the badge on my car.. could someone tell me if its possible to get a screw on badge which i can screw in and off if i need to?? or maybe just a normal badge ie not a star shape?

thanks

If it really bothers you that much then just replace the star with another geniune OEM one and when u park the car lift the bonnet up and remove the the star - all u need is a pair of plyers and just have to rotate the base of the star half a turn - only takes seconds to do... ;)

thats too much hassle mate lefting bonnet each time .. does anyone know where i can get one of them flat badges? someone selling them on ebay but abit expensive
does anyone know what size the grill is on a c220 cdi 52 plate ? thinking of replacing the grill one with a star

I'll try and find out for you...

If your going to go for the flat badge then a replacement sports CL type grill would look good (similar to the C203-coupe) grill and would be a great mod. Splang and other members have done it to their W203s but there are diferent style grilles availavle with the Star.

thanks esox .. dont u think the bottom bit looks abit big?

Hi delbOy,
I don't want to be a kill joy here, but the type of person that breaks off your emblem, will not think twice about using a screwdriver to gouge out the flat badges that some folks prefer.

If a screwdriver is used then you are looking at a lot of money to respray the gouge marks

If you like the flat emblem then go for it, but you pays your money and take your chances.

John the killjoy

flash do u know where i can get the pull put star for mines then?

glojo .. ur right matey and i was thinking that which is why im gonna try and get a pullout star

does any1 know if there is a place in the uk where i can get a pullout star for a w203

They appear to be for the W123/W124/W126 generation (the base of the star was differnt) and I dont think that they would perfectly fit a W203.
The later 124 and every other model with an upright bonnet ornament after that uses the same item, initially badged A124* but now A210* IIRC.

Face lift W124s used the same Star as the current ones yes.

Delboy: i'm not aware of any place that does a pull out Star for the W203. I can understand your concern about the issue with the flat badge but at the same time it would still be a nice mod.

If I hear anything about a "removeable" star for the W203 I will let you know :) . Do you still want be to find out about the grill/flat badge for you?

Yeah please mate if you can find out about the grill / badge instead
thanks..

Hi Group,

Just washed my C250TD this morning and the star just broke away in my hand! If it had've been anyone else, I'd say it was just brute force. So I too am looking for a replacement, and might as well get new wheel trims...any offers?

Thanks meantime

cheers mxs .. ill take a look

Take a look at the link below:

http://www.mercedesperformance.co.uk

Click on: PRODUCTS > ACCESORIES > C CLASS > EXTERIOR C CLASS W203

Therd are quite a few styles/designs on there and my favourite grill out the lot is priced at £275.15... ;)

There other grills/designs that are cheaper though on that site.

My father has found that the original MB replacement for his W220 is only £12.50 from the main stealership. Is this the cheapest part for a MB?!!
