The seat belt extender on the passenger side seems to have a mind of its own, it will extend if there is no one in the seat and will often do it when there is a bump in the road , does anyone know if there is some sensor that may be causing problem ?

Also has anyone had problems with parking sensors ? I am new to the car and not sure if there is a knack to turning these on ?

Any ideas would be welcomed - Thanks John

I can't help with the seat belt extenders as my w140 is a saloon, but the parktronic is speed sensitive and should turn on when the car is below a certain speed, and rear sensors are switched by the same switch as the reversing lights.

When I got my car I thought the parktronic was not working, but it actually turned out to be bulbs for the display back lighting had blown. Not the easiest bulbs in the world to change, but about 30 mins work each. I seem to remember having to take out the air vent on the drivers side to get to one of them. There is a diy on one of the us forums I think.

The sensors also play up if they are get very dirty, which I imagine is pretty common in the UK in December.

Dodgy courtesy switch could be causing this fault

Thanks for the tips that's great thanks - will have a look as you suggest Cheers
