Ok I tried it and the star guided me back home!

i've recently been on the hunt for 'run about' for the missus. One for which i'll be driving too. It will save me not having to clock unessasary miles on the coupe dropping her to places so it will benefit both of us.

Now, we went down the Mini route although she loves it because its trendy blah blah...its really crap inside. She likes it though. I dont!

Went to go see an Audi A3 53 reg yesterday, i liked it, She didnt! It actually drove perfect with full Audi history etc etc. In the back of my mind I really was hoping she didnt like it as i just want another merc. I know she isnt going to say no to one FACT.

She' isnt driving my coupe - full stop. Call me stubborn or even selfish, but ive put too much effort into it to be subject to some possible roughness! The last thing i want is kerbed wheels scratched up bumpers and god knows what else. Besides it will be far too big for her to park for sure. So we have no choice to get another. Anyone can drive in a straigt line .

Written off the prospect of Polo's, Golfs Yaris's etc, Although all top notch cars she dont even like them.... "There's no character to them babe":confused:

Ok fair enough because that really gets me on to solidify claims of getting another merc :bannana:

However, with the merc scene its now hard to decide which one that really falls into the bracket of a 'run about'.

I wanted to get a decent little C180 four door! She told me to Shut up. :dk:

CLK is out of the question too as it defeats the purpose of a run about.

What does the panel think of a C180 coupe facelift 2004? £5690

The prefacelift ones are horrendous! No offence to anybody who owns one, but the interior is just a bit better than a VITO!

And the back end, well i can get over that too.

Any way this is the one..i like it.

Lovely lovely car... I have the four door  and I can testify that the face-lifted W203 is a very good (and not rust-prone) car.

One owner and full mb service? 55k? i could maybe bring him down a bit but probably not that much.

i dont want to come across to be the nit picking TW%t, even though i am when it comes to attentions to detail.

Their nice, out of interest though what would be so bad about a CLK as a run around?.

Went to see it last night...i was 20 mins too late it got sold!

..went for £5190

the search continues, we have a silver one in mind this time, and for cheaper which reflects the 65k millage. 1 owner still.

I think it will be too big for her and to be honest if i was going to get a CLK i would be going for the big bang versions!

320's/430's for sure.

Billy:I looked for one of them a while back and the best one I found was a one owner 53 plate in silver with a lovely spec for £2700.Ok it had 70k but it had lots of toys

70k is acceptable, i cant seem to find one in that price range? I

have a butchers if you can mate. I think the 53 comes with the crappy dash and wheel?

ideally a 54 or 55 plate.

Mrs Wobbly has had her 2008 C180 coupe for nearly three years, and has been a fantastic car.

She has done 30k miles in it with no problems. The odd time I have driven the car, it always feels like a bigger car, feeling solid and sure footed.

Great Wobbly, thanks for that. i get the good feeling that these cars arent as bad as i first thought?

well they have improved a great deal from when they first arrived on the scene.

I just couldnt help myself, ive been nit picking again and there is a proper visual difference between an SE and SPORT.

I thought they were all same, but there are minor enhancements to bumpers that really make a visual difference IMO..

My lady has that model C180 Komp and absolutely loves it. Economical (regular 40+mpg), comfortable and good boot space.
She traded a Mini Cooper which as mentioned is stylish but she hated the cramped, vulnerable feeling.
The parking sensors are just right too.

Just for a laugh...

......And then it got wiped off when i saw the price! thats a serious offer!

for a 28yr old that aint bad! I was expecting the price of the C180k! :D

Fair enough, saying that I found my W208 230k a great car and pretty nippy too, and I like the 209s I'm sure a 240 or 200 K would be a good car, you're right on the too big though and the C Coupes are smart looking little cars:thumb:.

how are these cars on the rust front?

2004 onwards?

EDIT:

Can I upgrade to command on one of these too?
