Mercedes 190 testing like you have never seen

It only ever had one wiper arm. None panoramic (simple sweep) then the panoramic(jumping) version.

You could be spot on with that. But in my mind I reckoned there was a very early 190 with basic twin wiper arms. Having said that it's very possible I'm getting confused, very possible. :D

The none panoramic wiper did have a small separate blade below the main blade. But I don't recall it ever having twin wipers. Hmmm, some research is called for,,,,,,,

I have to be honest, I'm sure I've seen very early (maybe prototype/non-production) images of a 190 with twin wipers.

The other possibility is we're getting confused between twin wipers and single/twin washer jets on the (both single) non-pano and pano wiper models?

Early pre-production- annoyingly not much help

Finish perhaps with a nice piccy from the 190 forum of an early single wiper arm pre-production model in the wind tunnel?? Knowing MB's thorough approach back then, what's the betting there wasn't at least one prototype built with twin wipers at some stage in the development programme . ;)

Well, if so they maybe should have stuck with it...try driving hard while it's pouring out of heavens with standard Pano wiper. Forget doing 100 plus (in Germany) and the shame is, even if the wiper is a bit of a minor issue the car just sits there like it weighed a half a tonne more. .:D
