Hi.. Was just wondering if anybody has any experience with getting their C250 remapped at all? Mines is a 2011 250cdi. I have just had the injectors replaced and now looking to get more power. Also want to know if a remap will pose a risk to the injectors or any other parts to damage? So if you guys know of any remappers or more info that would be great! Thanks

Isn't that engine already quite highly tuned?

Yea I guess it is. On paper it is 500nm but since having the injectors replaced it feels less powerful. So I'm trying to find out whether or not is is safe and worth remapping for more powerful. I know a guy who got his 530d remapped and made quite a difference. That car has same power

Assuming its the 250 cdi blue efficiency (which is a 500nm engine) then you should have 201 bhp as standard - a tune should take you to around 240 bhp and about 590 nm torque so around 16 to 17% more power and probably around 5% better mpg

I am having my 350 cdi (2010) remapped today by a company called Black Code. I did have the DTUK box and it was a waste of money, 4 times the units failed and I have given up and taken the damn thing out. Apparently a proper re map is best for the car as these 'box of tricks' are nothing more than expensive resistors that confuse your car's ECU into thinking the engine is cold, so applying more fuel....Will post to let you know how it went

I would higly recomend a remap.Had my Chrysler 300c profesionally done and it is truly a different car now.Huge mpg improvement.
Never, never use a tuning box!!!!!!!

Borys...who did your remap??

Ok....may I ask how much they charged, how long it took and what sort of gain you had? Did you look at other companies and if so why did you choose Austec?
Thanks

Paid 360, gain is around 40bhp but they do 3 kinds of maps
- generic economy is a goal
- towing lots of torque
- performance all maxed out
They couldn't dyno my Chrysler, very dificult to hold it in gears so no print out. Will do that with Chrysler specialist garage later
I used them per recomendation, also nearest to me in case of problems
There was other option with a Stormtech but guys a bit too far away cost 400£

Ok thanks....
Black Code are coming down from head office (Stafford to Sussex!) to do mine as it also has a tamper-proof chip on it so it need one of their senior technicians to attend. Will be interesting to see the results as my DTUK box was a waste of money...

Please let me know how you get on. I asked black code to do my C350 cdi and they said it would have to be done in their workshop in Hounslow.

It was good, they came to my house and was done in four hours. Only issue was the fact that hey couldn't find the ECU to begin with ( its behind the drivers side front wheel arch ). Our cars also have a tamper proof chip too so they have to manually bypass that. The result? It's okay. More low down pick up and faster acceleration but not as mind blowing as you would think. An improvement yes
