Mercedes UK The WORST Service EVER!

Over a £230 key?! Legal action over a £230 key?!

This is precisely what SCC is for.

And it will more in the region £500 once reasonable expenses are added.

Then there's always the hope that the dealer will come to it senses and settle.

It's incredible that it's taken 6 mths and you're still not sorted

I didn't say I was going to sell it, but I would be reluctant to keep it once the warranty was up and I'm not sure I would buy another, the Merc dealers round here have really let the brand down. Not can only can they not service the cars they not that interested in selling them.

I had a brand new BMW X5M which developed an engine fault within 3 weeks, I rejected the car. The difference here is that BMW gave a fantastic service, they built me a brand new car, let me change the spec, gave me a brand new taxed and insured loan vehicle for 6 months while they built it.

I now feel more ****** off with Merc over a key than I did with BMW over an engine fault but that's because they dealt with it and provided good customer service.

Let me be the Devil's Advocate...

You had a good car and bad service from MB and you say you will not buy another Merc.

You had a bad car and good service from BMW and you still did not buy another Beemer.

So it seems that you are looking for a good car with good dealer service.... have you considered Lexus?

ROTFL

It's incompetent Stevenage that can't program the keys.
I've been warned by a friend with a Merc about Bedford
It was MK that I tried I to buy a car from, bunch of **** they are...

I must agree, looks like I am truly f****d

MK i went in no less than 5 times to just try and sit down with someone let alone get a test drive. Needless to say I went with another brand.

The other brand i won't name and shame but I'm having similar problems as you. Two damaged alloys, cracked bumper, crack in wind screen and broke down after 4 days. The cars now been in the garage longer than I've had it.

So i feel your pain.

Hope you get a satisfactory resolution.

Hope you get a satisfactory resolution.

Hope you do to, I'll see what MBUK have to say in the morning, sounds like maybe a drive to Cambridge or Northampton, not too far.

From the first day I walked in the BMW dealer, I had nothing but grief.
That has gone on and on, untill pretty much I had finally picked the car up.

So my summary is that whether its a MB, or BMW, or Jag, or Audi, these are all good cars, with some things better than their rivals.

What spoils the whole concept of buying and owing one of these, is dealing with idiots calling themselves salesmen, who have no idea what customer service is.

And that goes for all the brands I have dealt with so far!

I've had mixed experiences with MB at Milton Keynes. On the sales side, they are serious carp, but lately the service side have been ok. In fact when I took the SLK in for it's first service the service guy was very helpful and fully understood my desire to inspect the car before and after the service for damage (I've found dents and scratches on cars after services in the past..).

By the way, avoid MB Watford too. Service is woeful. IMO.

Not relevent to this situation, but just to praise the much maligned Russian workers, again last week I took my JDM NIssan in to the local authorised Bosch centre for some front suspension work and they were superb! Car was repaired properly, quickly and the guys were polite and friendly. Free coffee etc and the labour charge would make you cry! For three hours work............ £30!! :D:D:D

I have had bad, really bad, terrible and ----ing useless from alot of main dealers but when I lived in Berlin I took a friends Merc in to a main dealers and I did feel like royalty. So why should we put up with **** because we DO, this will only stop when we put are heart and soul in to what ever we are doing and not think IT WILL DO the Germans don't settle for second best.

If I bought a nearly new 63 I'd want the dealer to wipe my ar£e if I wanted it, let alone anything else

As would I to be honest, money now, more than ever, is scarce and a buyer should be made to feel like they're special.

Trouble is, it is the exact opposite of that. Mercedes, BMW and Audi have both just had their best ever years for volumes shifted.

If you google it - I wouldn't be surprised if most luxury brands are having their best ever sales' levels.

You just have to look at the cars on the roads - an endless procession of new and nearly new, highly spec'ed expensive cars.

What is the maximum number of keys that can be programmed to the car at a time?

I'm wondering if you've hit the ceiling.
