ml 270 cdi injector bolt

hi i recently bought a 2001 ml 270 and injector number 3 had the so called black death i took it out and changed the copper washer but the thread has gone for the injector bolt has anyone any cures for it. i've read a lot of threads about people putting holes in the head buy over tapping them and can anything be done in suit or have i to lift the head off the engine something i really don't want to do.....

thanks again going to take the information to a mate who dose engine rebores and see if he can re tap it with the sizes given hopefully this will work..
