ML270 W163 Centre Console Questions

The sliding cover over the cubby box in our recently acquired ML is jammed closed and no amount of fiddling with it will open it. I was hoping I could remove the lid of the arm rest and the box under it to sort it out but I can't see how to get to it.

Secondly, the ashtray in the rear of the console is hanging out and it seems something is broken, as it won't relocate. It looks as though it is on a spring loaded carrier but bits are missing from it. Can anyone recommend a source of used parts that could supply me with a complete ashtray assembly?

Use both hands and apply pressure to the bottom left, right and the middle of the sliding cover and it should slide back.

Check eBay for breakers or check with your local MB dealer.
